Love the selection, but didn't think Dallas had it in them to draft a DL with a 1st rounder. Kudos to Dallas, I was wrong.

Mazi is not a good pick! The best game he played was against my Alma mater in Colorado State. He had his only .5 sack and 1.5 of his 2.5 tackles for loss came in this game. Seems great except my boys at CSU had one of the worst OLs in college football history!!! Pretty sure my guys gave up the most sacks in the FBS last year with around 60!!!! The center was barely 6' and 275 lbs, and while he beat him sometimes he didn't play well against a C that should NEVER have played past HS let alone at an FBS school. If you don't dominate against this guy you are going to struggle against NFL players!

To me he doesn't fire off the ball at the snap he just stands up and blocks (yes he's a DT not an OL). He may be very strong but that doesn't show up when you watch him play. He will struggle at the next level. This guy is at best a 4th round guy, not a day 1 player.

Again he may not get pushed around much buy he doesn't push OL guys around either. To me Mazi can only play on 1st downs and short yardage plays (perhaps the eagles qb sneak) when the run % is the highest, after that he is a liability on the field.

I would grade this pick as a D since it was in the 1st round. He might have been available in the 2nd round. If this was a 4th round pick I would grade it a B+.

This pick seems tailor made to beat SF and Philly, and they are probably the teams we will have to beat to advance to the SB.
