Thoughts on the O-Line

With some short outlet passes to TO and Wiggins, shotgun and running the hurryup offense a couple times per game, let's see how much pressure they can bring. The biggest improvements in this o-line will be the result of more creativity in the play calling and a sure handed receiver that knows how to get open quickly (welcome TO!!).

Sure TO will help but short yardage and goal lines this offense has to do a better job and while it is easy to blame it on playcalling when you get down to 3rd 1 or inside the 5 any O-line should be expected to do the job the majority of the time.

Kosier is a huge question mark.

Nobody can be sure of what to expect from Kosier.

You're right to an extent, but I thought Parcells dropped an interesting line about him. WHen asked about the O-line, he said (paraphrasing) "I know what I have in (Kosier)."

Considering this was maybe one minicamp practice with Kosier even in a Cowboy uniform, I think that speaks to the level of research and film study they have on the guy. And for Bill to drop that comment I get a little less worried about Kosier and concentrate more on question marks like Rivera's back, Johnson's weight/strengh, and if Pettiti's improved physical status will translate to the field.

Not to alarm anyone, but that's the same line he used to drop when speaking about Kurt Vollers.

Another interesting statement about Kosier was that several teams who were interested in him felt he received crappy coaching in Det. So if he can play at a decent level with bad coaching, imagine how he will improve with our mediocre OL-coaching!

Also, it sounds like Peterman is going to see a lot of work at both LG and RG this pre-season -- possibly more at RG since they don't want to wear Rivera down. So much for the lack of versatility.

Its a context thing. They way he said it was more of "I don't have a question mark there."

Vollers was never pencilled in as a starter. Bill indeed knew what he had there, and Vollers is indeed no longer on the team.
