Haven't watch NE that much this season, but know how good Bellichek is as a DC. He is going to scheme ways to take away comfort from the Cowboy Offense:

-Shultz, will be the player they look to take away. They may put the nickel corner of him.
-Will try to take away the run game by playing big fronts.
-Force Dak to beat tight coverage on the outside.
-Mix up coverages to confuse Dak.
-Good dose of blitzing on 3rd down
-Judon is a legitimate edge rusher, where Moore needs to help Steele.
-Make no mistake, this defense is good and could give the Cowboy Offense some problems.

-Patriot Offense has struggled to run and protect the football.
-Pressure their offense to go score for score.
-Agohlar is their deep threat, don't let him beat you for a big play over the top.
-Like Shultz, Hunter Henry is his go to guy, prevent him from moving the sticks.

-Cannot get killed on special teams, this is an area where the Patriots thrive throughout the years. Many forget BB started as a special teams coach.

Who has NE really played though. Like the Eagles were the #2 defense after 2 weeks, Carolina the #1 defense after 3 weeks.
I know it is Cheat Head and NE but that does not mean they should be feared. They are 2-3 for a reason. Maybe they are finding a groove though, who knows for sure after 5 games.

NE's toughest game was against TB and that was in bad weather, which sometimes proves anything could happen. And we seen how bad TB's secondary can be.
TB moved the ball decently against NE in bad weather. Let's just hope the weather is decent though.
Miami, NYJ, Saints, TB, Houston does not scream fear factor to me. Though I always get concerned right before KO. Not about the opponent as much about how will we come out and perform based on previous history. 5 games this year looks good, but still, I get that feeling.

Mac Jones looks good at times, and also looks like a rookie at times. As you said Agohlar is the deep threat, and I have a feeling they will test us deep. As most of their plays are short to intermediate routes from what I seen from them. So they will try to mix it up on us. Keep playing our style of defense, don't give up the big play. But must sack Jones a few times, not just pressures. Put him in a funk right away.

Their defense can try to take away Schultz or Amari or CeeDee or can try to stop the run game, but they can't take away it all. This will come down to the OL protecting Dak, and Dak still being on his game making his throws.

The Pats been playing a lot of single high out of nickel and dime. Dak will carve them apart if they continue and the Cowboys also don't shy away from the run vs single high so those little *** DBs aint gonna be much help when Zeke is barreling at them. I think we'll force them into a Two high saftey look or at least into more of a LB centric defense. Either way, we will dictate to them when we have the ball I believe.

I think slightly differently (perhaps Bilicheck effect of keeping everyone guessing). I think he wants to take away the big play ability of the cowboys, because his offense can't keep up the scoring. he wants long drives even by the cowboys, with some culminating in no more than a field goal. he will take away the deep threats on the outside in CD and cooper and give us middle of the field, short area and force us to dink and dunk our way down. his problem is if he loads up on the run, he is going to compromise pass defense. so where does he think he has strength on his defense, back 7 or front 7. which ever, he will roll the dice that way. he know he has to shorten the game, by having long drives, and force us to long drive (no quick strikes). limit the number of possessions. force a couple of punts, and tighten up inside the redzone. he is master of redzone defense....

on offense he will protect the ball as you said, but he will take shots at the dallas secondary. he knows that's the weak spot. he will stay away from Diggs, he is too smart to challenge him and will attack brown and the safties.....all he needs are a couple of big pass plays and we know our pass defense is good (bad) for that.

He is still Belichick and hasn't lost any of his moxie about defensive football. But like any great chef, it's the ingredients that set the stage and he doesn't have what he's had in the past.

There is no more of a team oriented HC in the NFL the last 30 years but he doesn't have the blue chippers. In that regard, he's like his disciple at Bama. It may be the same system but it's not the same parts.

It is like trying to keep the Ferrari running with Pinto parts. :lmao:

Trying to make the Big Mac taste the same with Mayo and not the special sauce :muttley:

Is Tyron playing left tackle? W
If not, could be trouble.
After QB of course, LT is the biggest drop off from starter to second string on this team.

Diggs is arguable there, but he doesn't protect our QBs health and affect our ability to score....which we need to do to win.

I don't like what happens when Dak is missing both Collins AND Smith, which includes bad injuries and losing to the pathetic Jets.

Did you make those up yourself or heard it elsewhere??

Tell the truth. Lol.

I see this game along the lines of the panther game. Only difference is they got the boogey man at HC. Cowboys should take care of business.

Nice insights

Most teams have one area, or player, that is really good , and Belly is very good at taking that away. Like the Panthers - the offense runs through McCaffery. If he's not there, or can be basically neutralized, then the Panthers are in trouble.

Cowboyny above singled out Schultz for somebody the Pats will try to take away. Oh no! Schultz won't be an impact player! We're doomed! (No Cowboyny you didn't say that)

Cowboys and Moore will just say "Ok, Schultz won't be much help this game. Guess we'll just throw to Pollard after Schultz takes off downfield and clears out a big chunk of the field for Pollard. Or Zeke. Or the slot receiver".

Belly's strategy works great, unless you have a team that can run inside, run outside, throw short, throw medium or throw long.
Of course that means it falls on Moore to counter Belly's strategy. A year or two ago I might be worried about that, but I'm not now. It may still be a concern, but won't know that until game time...

I think he will take out Schultz as well as he did that with Witten too and Romo fell apart. But fortunately for us we still have Jarwin down the seam. And Zeke and Pollard swinging out of the backfield.

The Belichick edge gives the Pats 3 points in this one. Cowboys 27 - 17

We hope he had an MRI on Thurs so we will see he had nerve damage in his neck looking like he might need surgery .
Ed Wereder Tweeted yesterday that he's expected to play on Sunday. Anything different come out since? I really hope he doesn't need surgery.

I think Bill will try to slow the run game up but I think when they do the Cowboys will attack down the field. Davis Mills last week was 21 of 29 for 312 and 3 TD. I have no doubt in Dak ability and that of the WR and TE on this team to be able to hurt NE should they look to crowd the OL
