Thoughts on Trading Ellis to Broncos for their 30th draft pick???

It's not as crazy as it sounds. For some reason Denver loves our "not wanted anymore" D-linemen. Leon Lett, Kavika Pittman, Mike Myers, Ekubon all have/are playing for them when they were cut/not resigned by Dallas.

Having said that, I doubt they will give us their first for Ellis and 2007 2nd.

I can see them giving us their 3rd for Ellis and our 4th in 2007.

Broncos have 2 first round picks (22 & 30 but that changes depending on playoff outcome); wonder what it would cost for their 30th pick. If Ellis has to be traded/Cowboys believe Canty/Spears can bring enough DL pressure to replace Ellis/Glover, maybe a trade with the Broncos could work out for both of us. REALIZE Ellis (turns 31) alone is not enough & won't give up any of our young players nor trade away any of our other 06 draft picks. Since Draft Pick Value Chart values 30th pick with 620 points, would Ellis & our 2nd pick in 07 draft be enough to get their 30th pick?

I know Ellis turns 31, but he is a good DE with good reputation. While teams might think they can get him w/o giving up anything, we should be able convince them we can afford keep him if we don't get something. Teams like the Broncos or Seattle believe they SB contender, but if they don't make it this year, will they think Ellis could be defensive difference with his 8 sacks and injury-free career. Actually Ellis is cheap at his current price for good DE player.

Didn't Ellis have a broken leg his 2nd or 3rd year, missed some playing time.
If I remember, it was a pretty bad one, and was considered career threatening
