Thoughts on what we should do with Amari?

I see a lot of speculation going on with him around these parts. Some argue he’s injured and isn’t playing the same, some say he’s reverting back to his Oakland form. What do you guys think we should do? We have two tags this year I heard. Do we tag him and see if he returns back to 2018 Amari next year? IMO, he shouldn’t get paid this year. He had a few good games, but wasn’t nearly as effective as he was in 2018. Plus, his attitude just isn’t right for this team. I like non-diva WR’s, but we need dogs on this team. We need emotion on this team. He isn’t fit for this team right now.

I honestly want to trade for JuJu Smith Shuster or OBJ. They are both emotional guys. Both have a little dog in them. Both are good WR’s. Both could bring a needed fire to this team. OBJ I’m a little cautious on because he’d really buy into the country club culture, but I think he’d thrive here with his diva ness. Hopefully he can get some of our players mad, hyped up or emotional in some way.

JuJu is emotional. We need guys like that. He cares for his team and teammates. Always looking to get better. He’s cheap as of right now as well. Also may be willing to take a cheaper contract or we can tag him as well.

Thoughts?

idk...amari is a tough one. his drops are annoying and will never be fixed and why does he always completely disappear on the road?

tbh the only reason i would bring him back is because they can’t keep wasting first round picks but that is a really bad reason to pay a guy huge money!

I like Cooper. Healthy, he's a no brainer to bring back. Problem is, he can't stay healthy and you can't give an injury prone WR a long term, high dollar contract. His value, at least in my mind, had dropped drastically. I say you do your homework in the draft and go after a top college WR, and no one with an injury history...

The only speculation on Amari is coming from people who have nothing to do with this situation. Jerry, Stephen, and Amari every time asked say the same thing. He's staying in Dallas.

I don’t like Amari’s attitude. He completely checks out when things get tough. I’m afraid he’s a bully against weaker opponents but craters a bit under pressure.

It doesn’t help that Dak’s accuracy and timing were a mess late in the season. But all in all I say let him walk if he wants 60-70 million guaranteed.

What will probably happen is he will get the tag after Dak signs in a month or so.

I wouldn’t throw much money at him. He has drops at critical times and lacks toughness.

he is gifted no question but I don’t think he’s worth a truckload of cash

inconsistent and a non factor in big games when your prime time players need to shine

sucks we lost a first for him

Agreed. 2019 is an exact copy of 2017 (2017 he struggled 2nd half of the season do to leg injuries). Then on top of that add his drop history and the amount of money where going to have to pay him.

There's absolutely no way I would feel comfterable locking him up to 3 years of high dollar guranteed money. I like him as a player and person (love his clean technique/routes) but NFL is risky business

I don't know how effective Amari Cooper will be after Dak Prescott is gone.
I'd like to find out.

I don’t know what to do with Amari. Arguably he is a top 10 receiver. You might make a case for even top 5.

On the other hand you could also argue that he’s not top 20. There are a LOT of good receivers in the league these days.

Didn't he make 2 probowls in 3 years in Oakland?
So reverting back to his excellent ways?
Sign me up.

Oakland must not of been too fond of him considering they traded for him. He wasn’t “excellent” there or they wouldn’t have shipped him off at the first sight of an offer from another team. He’s average at best. If we can get OBJ or Smith Shuster here, I saw we kick Amari to the curb. He, like his QB, is too inconsistent and folds when the team gets above .500.

He made 2 probowls in Oakland in 3 years. So that itself is excellent.
I guess Khalil Mack wasnt too excellent since the kicked him to the curb also.......

Both guys were sent away because Gruden has a fragile ego and couldnt stand that both guys were leaders in the locker room.

So in 5 years he has been to 3 probowls. Sounds like a keeper.

If memory serves correct we could have drafted JuJu instead of Chidobe.
And TJ instead of Taco.:lmao2:
