Yes, very disappointing performance, but it is a long season. Cowboys ran into a buzz saw and got an a**kicking on both sides of the football. Outplayed, outcoached and were bullied all night long. They were punished in the face and never responded. Teams can improve or decline throughout a long season, we will see how mentally tough this team is now.

Offense

-They tried to run to the edges without much success. In my opinion, MM failed to create balance, even early as he abandoned the running game. This played into the 49ers strength. Have to slow down their front and cannot allow them to pin their ears and rush the passer, with extra men in coverage.
-Think MM and Dak were caught off guard when the 49ers played more press coverage then they have seen before. Their great linebackers took away all the underneath passes over the middle and forced Dak to throw to the sideline. In my opinion, Dak was way too intentitive and played way too conservative early on.
-49ers played a lot of single high in this game and dared the Cowboys to beat them over the top, but Dak was unable to do so.
-Thought Steele struggled, also saw Tyler Smith get manhandled a few times, which I never have seen in the past.
-Outside of the Turpin play, offense was terrible.

Defense

-Defense was marginally better then the offense, which isn't good.
-49ers ran to the edges right at Parsons with success. Quinn played him more as a linebacker in the playoff game.
-Purdy saw consistently 3rd and shorts (less then 5 yards), throughout the night due to winning the early downs.
-Pass rush was no where to be found all night long, very rarely did we see Purdy moved from a spot, he had time to read the entire field throughout the night.
-Parsons cannot be a no show against good fronts, we needed him to make an impact on this game.
-Purdy is excellent in protecting the football, without any pass rush and any turnovers, this defense couldn't do anything all night long. Even if the offense was better, there was zero chance they were scoring 40 points against their Defense.
-Outside of Lewis, this defense was total garbage. Can people finally start saying this isn't a generational defense!!

Special Teams

-Not really a big factor in this blowout loss.

As I said, it's a long season, now we get to see how this team responds. A total butt kicking will either light a fire in these players or lose the locker room. Really believe the futures of both MM/Dak are on the line now, sink or swim!!

Sounds like MM and Dak, can't adjust on the fly.
Good teams and players can make ingame adjustments.
Guess neither are that good.

Trying to run the ball remains a suicidal course of action for this team.

we need more in this category, dunno if bones has been dialing it back but our kick off returns have been meh, almost always a block in the back, and no 4th down creativity.

Owner is overrated
GM is owners son aka overrated
HC is overrated
QB is overrated
OC should be fired
#11 is overrated
WR coach should be fired

I was surprised at how often the Cowboys had Micah rushing against Williams. I would rather see him rush from the left side. For starters he seems to be a better pass rusher from that side, but you also force SF to do one of a few things. You can't just leave Parsons 1v1 against a pretty average RT in McKivitz. If they do they have to either make Purdy roll out of the pocket or keep a TE in to help block....that TE absolutely killed the Cowboys as a receiver.

you cannot make mistakes against good teams like the cowboys did it will result in this type of game and dak sucks bad

I started the season with my opinion/prediction of team success or failure being based on offensive playcalling and QB decisionmaking in real time.

I still stand by that.

This is the team I thought they were. When the Cowboys get punched in the mouth they give up.

I don’t think Dallas has an advantage at any position over San Francisco. They’re a better built team across the board. That includes GM and Coaches.

I get that people expect better from Prescott. In the 2023 NFL, you can’t win with poor QB play. But I also don’t know what team would stand a chance in last night’s game. This year’s 49ers are the best team the NFL has seen in over a decade — maybe two decades.

GM undermines the head coach

These players are content with being mediocre and don't respect the coaching staff

We don't have a #1 running back. Pollard is not it.

Our quarterback is below average in accuracy, reading the field, and decision making

Lots of dumb players on defense. Lining up with your toe across the line of scrimmage on 3rd and short? It was a safety, one of the 3 stooges we have back there. I don't know if it was the Hooker or Curse. I don't think it was Wilson...this time

Linebackers are slow

Parsons is undersized and we're going to burn him out in 3 years at this rate. Move him back to linebacker

In the end, it doesn't matter. This culture is soft and not conducive to winning. We don't have winners on this team besides Parsons.
