Thoughts/Opinions about yesterday's comeback win

Right on the edge of a loss and took the win. It’s exciting when CD has a record game. Feel rejuvenated by one half of football. But, could have been feeling the lowest of low if that Hail Mary was completed, So, thankful we’re on the opposite side of that other outcome. Excited for Thursday!

I watched the game replay this morning. I think we need to have a talk about Cooper Beebe. I saw Sheldon Rankins him throw him to the ground with 1 arm. When he is one on 1 blocking he struggles a lot.

Good take.

The Texans defense in the 2nd half was terrible.

Too much deep zone.
Yeah but what you're missing is it was the same what they were playing all game the Cowboys found a way to beat it they started running better they started blocking a little bit better on the offensive line giving Prescott a little bit more time and guys got open or at least like in the case of George Pickens he he caught the contested catches I mean he's not getting open enough in my opinion but they just figured it out the problem was they didn't adjust the Cowboys adjusted in the second half The Texan stayed in the same defense and the Cowboys figured out a way to beat it..

To give the Cowboys credit their offense came out saw the same looks and go OK We just need to play a little better and they did It was mostly the offensive line and lack of a run threat that ruined the first half for them scoring and then they put up four touchdowns in the second half because the their defense thought they can still keep getting home with four guys rushing and seven guys covering and it didn't work They would have needed to start blitzing again and the Cowboys would have beat that too so yes the Cowboys offense being 1 of the best in the league right now if not the best figured out a way to blow it apart but it was stopping us in the first half that's why the Texans stayed in it..

Things like the very first play of the game are concerning. Just gotta hope they find a way to tighten things up.

Logic says that they will. There’s talent there and it’s a new system for everyone. Just get out of Thursday at 3-2 and heal up for ten days. See where we are at then.

It’s tough for these guys to learn to play as a unit and communicate well when too many of them are injured.

I want to know what the heck Hooker was doing on the play. Either knock it down or catch it. He did neither. I'm so ready for him to be gone. Every week I question why he is on the 53.
And his tackling is atrocious. Never attempts to wrap a runner up, just tries body blocking him. He's Deion level without the coverage skills.

Bell committing pass interference or was the ball tipped already?
that is the unofficial "unwritten rule" in football. Officials rarely call pass interference on a Hail Mary because there are usually eight to ten players all jumping for the ball in a crowded cluster, making mutual contact inevitable.
However, because it is an unwritten rule, things can get chaotic. Here is how officials typically view these plays, along with the rare exceptions where they will actually throw a flag:

100,

Knock it down instead of trying to catch it is a core coaching element for defensive backs and punt returners in situations like deep passes (Hail Marys) or high-risk punt returns to prevent a tip into an opponent's hands or a costly turnover.

not sure how seasoned vets don't understand this, swat it!! do not try and catch it!!!

Yes they did. Slightly, but they did. If you dd not see that, then you did not watch closely enough. Or just the typical dislike of anything positive. Even if very small.

Yes, and will improve. T. Smith will be back soon. They are hinting at the TB game. I believe it all be more like the GB game.

Yes, but small improvements each week if different areas. Again, see my answer above.

Yes, they still make mistakes, but the redone play calls were better. Clock management was better.

It is not that bad. Not great but can still move the ball.
The defense hasn't improved anywhere. They just played a JV offensive line.

The game management (long FG attempt) at the end of the first half was worse than end-of-game management against Baltimore.

Excuses just to not want to see or admit the slightest improvement.

Well because they still gave up 30 points or more it's been like that all year and yes incremental small improvements..

we do agree with that, but I don't think people need to get out of magnifying glass and really break it down

but I sure hope that the 10 day break, they're allowed to really look through this with a fine tooth comb and their own microscope over there on that side of the ball with the coaching staff because changes need to be made on the rotation, the depth chart, and some of these players need to have their roles reversed ,or changed a little bit..

the D needs more tweaking not small ones but I see other players that deserve to have more reps than others and maybe switch some of these role players to a smaller role or larger role things need to get fixed.

Offense is elite. Smith should improve the run game this week.

Big issue is they don’t know how to close out games.

Two weeks in a row, they’ve had the ball, a touchdown lead and less than 7 minutes left. Pretty similar conservative play calling that led to points and immediately losing the lead
Yes 40 sec on the clock y’day , crazy .

Most Improvement was with the D. When the D was bad...they were baaaaaad.

But, the signs of Life in the D, those moments were very promising and bright ! ! !

The O was Hot & Cold. I'm glad they were Hot at the end when we needed them the most.

It was nice that Hou kept shooting themselves in the foot with unforced penalties.

When the offense gets going it is nearly unstoppable. But once again it took a whole half to really get going. The defense...well they didn't let them score every possession so that is a plus.

I noticed last year at the snap his initial point of attack win rate was not that good.

In fact he kinda falls in line with the previous meh Dallas centers named Connor or Tyler Biadasz that went to Washington imho.

Nothing terrible but nothing really special either honestly.
About average.
