Thoughts/Opinions about yesterday's win-very similar to 1st game

[Cowboyny]

Offense

-must figure out how to play a 60 minute game, cannot spot a team a 21 point lead and expect to win many games.
-Pickens is having such a special season, that catch over two defenders was unbelievable.
-What is up with Lamb and the Eagles? Almost a carbon copy of the 1st game where he cost the team a win. I think he might be pressing trying to match what Pickens is doing with this offense.
-thought OL played well against a good front, especially when Guyton got hurt. Dean was the only one who was giving them some troubles.
-Schott had a terrible game. Going for it on the 1st drive, 3 passes at the 1 and not challenging the roughing the punter

Defense

-very similar to the 1st matchup with the Eagles. Couldn't stop anything in the 1st half and then flipped the switch in the 2nd half. They certainly were helped by the Eagles committing a ton of penalties, which they rarely do.
-Sam Williams/Osa may have saved the season at least for now. Fumble and the sack on the Eagles last drive.
-Considering it was he 2nd game thought Revel held up against a very difficult matchup against AJ Brown.
-Eagles stayed away from running against that 5 man front, when they did couldn't run the ball at all. A few outside runs hurt them, but they were excellent stopping the run. Expect teams to follow this by avoiding running the football.
-Outside of a few designed QB runs, thought the Cowboys did a far better job in containing Hurts running for big yards from the pocket.

Special Teams

-what an effort play by Clark, forcing that fumble that should of led to a game changing TD.
-Audrey missed a FG and almost missed the game winner
-unfortunate about that roughing the punter penalty.

This was a season saving win, they got to keep the train moving and get on a run if they have any chance of making the postseason. Doesn't get any easier with Mahomes and the Chiefs coming to town needing a win.

Total team resilience.To keep coming back after so many ups and downs to this game. Practically a surreal experience in which you can't actually believe they did it because of so many similar losses in the past.

I really the 5 man fronts are a precursor to running multiple fronts next year. 3, 4, and 5. Eberflus does have some background running in multiple front schemes

Agree, now you have the right personnel to effectively do this. We need that elite edge to take that next step.

This is exactly what we need, not a star, but a guy who will get everyone lined up and know what they should be doing on a particular play.

He is the type that gets everyone on the same page, where you rarely see blown coverages on the back-end cause of it. I agree, his worth would be more then Quincy.

Good post but the tackles struggled when Guyton was out. The 4th down goal line play was stopped because of the tackles got beat. On the great play by Pickens Thomas got whipped by the end but Williams saved him with chip. Guyton had mental lapses with the two penalties but he was blocking well. The Cowboys got almost 500 yards against a defense that held the Packers and Lions to under 10 points. We have chance to win out. Very reminiscent to the 2018 season.

Refs were fair this game, missing calls for both teams and making a bad call for each.

Eagles lost two fumbles and had a load of penalties, very uncharacteristic for them.

Pickens is getting $$$$$ from someone. I hope it’s us. Can’t believe I got him in the 7th round of my fantasy draft!

We showed a physical side on defense not seen in years.

We picked on the #2 CB a lot, good to see us continually attack a weak spot on defense.

They missed Lane Johnson.

The punt returner that caught a punt at the 2 yard line made one of the most boneheaded plays of the year, another type of mistake usually not seen from them.

I’ll give props to Fangio. He kept scheming his best to cover the loss of defensive players in the second half.

I will reiterate: sign Pickens! He is the best offensive player on this team.

The Chiefs are not as good as the Eagles but yes the game will be tough. Let’s not poo poo the Eagles. They have beaten the Rams, Packers Chiefs, Lions, and Bucs. Their resume is second to none. The Cowboys beat the best team in football.
