what are everyones thoughts on UFC? it seems to remind me of boxing from its heydays where their were big name fighters with fights that were actually fun to watch.

I think its great minus the 20 second matches.

yeah their was a match tonight where their was a right hook landed clean on the guys temple and it was over in a matter of 11 seconds, reminded me of a very young mike tyson

I havent seen many fights end like that so quick.

The 20 second matches are usually quick submission holds.

So you dont watch the Denver Bronco games?

I have never seen a Bronco knee someone in the mouth and his teeth fly out like chicklets.

This Tuesday live in San Antonio I'll be ringside watching some UFC spinoffs fighting, yeah boy!!!

:lmao2:

This is true but you said "cripple" each other.

I never saw so many low blocks in my life... speaking of, Nalen had some UFC stuff pulled on him by that Charger (Igor or whoever it was) after a low block.

I can't get enough of it. Even if some of the fights are short, plenty of undercard fights with some unknowns can turn into an excellent match. I got burnt out on it in the early 90's when a grappler would kill my interest when they'd roll around the mat the whole time (Gracie). With the new rules and expertise of the new fighters, it's got me hooked again.

Oh, and Cro Cop is one bad man.

Overall I like the UFC. However, I get a bit bored with all the wrestling at times.

I use to be a huge boxing fan but the sport has changed way too much for my tastes. That plus you always wonder in the back of your mind if the fix is in. Fighters today are too defensive they use to look to knock the snot out of each other. I grew up a huge Sugar Ray Leonard fan, so the bar was set really high.

I'm with Doom in that I preferred martial artists standing toe to toe and hitting each other. The Gracie way of fighting is undeniable, but it's also terribly boring to watch two men roll around on the floor trying to twist each others digits to win a match.

I've been watching since UFC 1 and I kind of like the way it used to be, where the point basically was the toughest guy stands at the end.

The 50 sec and under fights were great when Vitor Belfort was punching someone into submission in under a minute. The guy threw punches faster than anyone I'd ever seen. Punchers like him brought alot of excitement to the UFC.

It can be entertaining when its two guys brawling, but as soon as they are trying to grapple each other on the floor it just gets waaaay too gay for me.

Is this Tim hardaway?

I always thought that about High School wrestling actually

Tonight is the night and I got 3 tix on the second row. My buddy's sensei is gonna be fighting tonight against some dude who came to his gym for training. After 3 months the coach found out he was training a guy he was gonna fight and kicked him out of the gym for being a sneak. I hope he pounds the dojo out of him:D
