Three impact players

We have high picks in every round.

There is absolutely no reason this team shouldn't come away with at least three impact players. We haven't been this high in the draft for decades and there is no excuse for messing this up.

Let's be honest: in the past few years, we've been dumpster diving for special teamers and role players. It's time to shatter the status quo and draft guys who can make this franchise better, regardless of who we already have at their position.

I am so sick of picking up backup LBs and RBs, heir apparent TEs etc.

This may be a random rant, but if this team continues to look for role players over starters, I am going to be pissed.

it's also a weak draft

Weak draft or no, the team needs to take advantage of the position it's in. This can be a draft that sets us up for long term success. I'd hate it if we traded around to get 'value' or avoided drafting certain players because we didn't want to challenge the status quo

I see no reason why we shouldn't get 5 impact players from this draft. Not necessarily 5 starters but 3 starters and at least 2 more that see the field. Heck we should come out of those 4 6th round picks with at least one player that see's the field. Make it 6 solid contributors as long as we don't draft any Chaz Greens or Wilcox/BW Webb projects.

Same reason why we can't afford take injury risk like Smith in the top 3 rounds. This team doesn't have enough talent to have that luxury.

that is where I disagree some....while I want all of the draft picks to be "hits" of course, they all won't be in 2016...Smith would be a 2017 selection and beyond...I am ALL for pulling the trigger on him

No doubt a talent but no way to know if he will even play again. Too rich for high 3rd. I really am hoping for three quality starter for 5-10 years.

It's really not a weak draft, a ton of potential. About the only position I'm down on in this draft is the QB position and slightly DE. I'd also like to point out, there are some stud O-Lineman in the top 10, but since we basically rebuilt that into the best line in the league, we are overlooking those prospects.

But Ramsey, Jacks, and Bosa would be big time prospects any year. I REALLY like the talent that should be there early in the second. At the very least, we should end up with 2 very good players.

If your 2016 hopes fall on the shoulders of a 3rd round draft pick, you're probably not going to be very successful this season.

I expect my 3rd round pick to contribute this year and probably become a starter next yr.
3rd rounder is just too high to pick a player that may never play football again....given this team's lack of overall talent...we don't have that luxury.

I think the Cowboys goal will be to get a QB that they think could develop into an eventual starter and two impact players this year's top three picks. So they may not get much impact from the QB this year.

I think you're expectations are a little high for a 3rd round picks. 3rd round on you're probably getting a project, role player, or high ceiling injury prone player. Pick your poison. Most wont see 40 games in their careers.

This is a high 3rd round pick. I think your expectation has been lowered because how poorly this franchise has drafted over the past decade. We throw away pick and take project thinking we see something others don't instead of taking productive players. I even expect us to hit a few 4th rounders like other teams in the league.
