Three times in one year?

I don't know the answer to this. I guess I could do some research, but someone here probably knows it off the top of his head.
Question: When's the last time the Cowboys beat some team three times in one year? Did they ever do it with the triplets? Did they do it under Landry?
They say it's tough to beat the same team three times in one year. But is that because the third time is an advantage for the team that lost the first two, or because there are so few chances to beat the same team three times? To beat someone three times, it would have to be a division rival, obviously, that you beat twice during the regular season and you ended up meeting in the playoffs. How often does that even happen?

We've never done it.

Last time we had the opportunity, was 1998 with the Cardinals. They beat us in the playoffs after we swept them in the regular season.

In the history of the league, when a team has swept the opp in the regular season and then played them in the play-offs, that team won again 11 out of 17 times. I don't know where the myth started that its tough to beat a team three times came from base on that.

When it comes to this topic, there are only two things to consider.

1. Does Dallas have the capability of beating the Giants? They have already proven that they can by beating them twice already.

2. Can Dallas lose this game with superior personnel, coaching and homefield advantage on their side? Possibly, but that's not Dallas' problem. That's the Giants' mountain to conquer, not the Cowboys.

I can't wait for gametime to dispel all doubts.

Haven't we beaten the Giants three times in a row dating back to last season? Romo started all three of those games, and two of those times the Giants were hot hot hot!

According to the pregame I watched earlier, 17 times have 2 teams met in the playoff where one was swept in the regular season, with the sweeping team winning 11 of those.

It's 11 out of 17 overall -- 9 out of 13 at home (69.2 percent) and two out of four on the road (50 percent).
