Throw a bomb first play

Set the tone and either severely over throw or under throw a wide open Gallup on the first play.
The first one he threw to Gallup in the Saints game was a completion but Cowboys fans have selective memories. 9 targets and 8 completions to Gallup. 8 targets and 8 completions to Cooper. Both against the Saints. But yea that 1 pass......lol

Right that first pass was perfect, too bad the defender made a great play to trip him up inside the 5.

These Eagles corners are HORRIBLE! Even an incompletion is a successful play because it’ll have them thinking. Not to mention, there’s a good chance of PI or a completion. Go 40+ downfield immediately and send the damn message!
Unfortunately..

Zeke gets the first play.

Back in the day in the 60s..

it was Perkins up the middle.

Opening play of every game.

Made us all nauseous.

There is no excuse for dak not to reach the 300 yard club this week against a decimated eagles secondary

I say shock them with a short yardage scrum,,,, Zeke hits the line followed by his fullback and TE and pulling tackle pushing the pile for 26 yards. DO it two more times and you've got a touchdown. :flagwave:

Hand off straight up the middle for none yards; it will be second and ten anyway.

Yep, I don't like it because it's too predictable. We run on almost every 1st down, although it does appear they're trying to mix it up a bit more lately.

But the idea behind a grindy run game is to keep doing it again & again, for long periods of time. This theoretically does three things:

1) Tires out the opposing D.

2) Lets you figure out the opposing D's weaknesses to then exploit.

3) Eats up clock.

This is why Dallas has often been called a "2nd half" team, as this process is an investment that doesn't pay off until further into the game.

Does it work? Meh, sometimes. Seems the league overall hasn't used this for over a decade, but that doesn't mean it can't work this year...

2nd and 10 is not a great position, and deep passes are low percentage passes.
I like the idea of play action first play and see what’s there. Not necessarily a bomb if it’s not there but let’s them know stacking the box may be a mistake

Chances are, the Eagles may "bring the house" often to try to cover for their secondary. I say Zeke on a wheel route.
