I give up!.. LOL Just going to have fun with it this year and enjoy the ride. Every year I do a deep dive into the draft, I generally start within a few weeks of the season ending. I normally end up pretty damn close too, but this year its just way too hard with way too many variables including a totally new coaching staff.
I normally break down the draft in two different ways. Players that I think the team should draft, and players I think the team WILL draft. Many times they are one and the same, sometimes they are not.

Having said all that this year all I have are a few thoughts, no board, no mock, no nothing...LOL Just thoughts. Few that they may be.

First,.....I continue to believe that we would be far better off this year trading down into the lower part of the 1st round in the hopes of picking up an extra second round pick. WERE GONNA NEED IT. Might be able to still land a guy like the safety from Alabama Mckinney down there near the bottom of the first and end up with an extra second in the process.

Pet cats....

Love the Wideout from Notre Dame Chase Claypool. Great size and speed. Bigger version of Packers Adams?? I pick that kid in the second round all day long.

D.L....James Lynch. Mark my words,...this kid is a player! Can play three positions on a 4 man line and at least 2 in a three man line. Old school tough guy who can really get after it. VERY powerful. Look for him to come on strong from out of nowhere like Max Crosby did last year for the Raiders. I draft him in round three and never look back.

C/G Tyler Biadasz. Its said he is falling in the draft. Possibly all the way to round 4, I just dont see it though, not that far down. Watched him for years,....Great potential IMO. He isnt Frederick,....but IMO HE CAN BE.

Thats all Ive got...Enjoy the draft , have fun with it and see where it takes us!

Lynch is going to be a solid. Same with Biadasz.

Rumors are Claypool may shift to TE.

All would be good picks.

Check out the highlights on K’Lavon Chaisson, DE from LSU. He’s likely the first round pick IMO

He's the only Longhorn I thought was any good. The rest look like guys who ain't tough enough to shine their own stars.
Yep, they looked bad this year. Their secondary and RB injuries were brutal. Tom will turn it around. He's a good guy and his players will bust their butts for him.

Every year is the same. I watch College Football and start following guys I think will make it in the league. Around December i'll start putting together a draft board, position by position. Scouting combine I turn to overdrive and really start looking deep into the top 100 or so players. I constantly update my own rankings based on what I see, what other draft sites are doing, and just paying attention to all the rumors and smoke being put out there.

By the time the draft comes, I think I have a good grasp on what the Cowboys will do. I've studied their trends, I know who the RKG's are, etc. I know what guys fit their needs and schemes. But every year they find a way to break out hearts. Sometimes good and sometimes for the bad.

Last year for example, I really studied the Safety, Running Back, and Tight End positions. I felt we were in a good position to land a Safety in Round 2 with about 5 guys I really liked. I just needed one of them fall. And look at that, we're on the clock and 3 safeties fell right to us. Not to mention this WR that was a freak of nature, D.K. Metcalf was falling. But all week we heard the Cowboys really loved this DT out of Central Florida. I barely looked at him, but everyone seemed to have him rated more in the 3rd or 4th round. No way we take this guy over these Safeties right?

Right there is when I gave up trying to figure out this team and what they are looking for in the draft. I hope Trysten Hill turns out to be great. Or maybe this new coaching staff will improve some of the mishaps with the draft. For now I'm just going to enjoy it.

Yea, this year has been different when following the draft for obvious reasons. First year in a while I'm forgetting when the draft is taking place.

My best guess as to their current rankings and mindset:

I think they would definitely prefer to go defense in this draft. I think they have two players they'd love to get to pick #17 - Chaisson and Henderson - in that order. If both are gone, I think they would look at safety and McKinney. If not, I can see them getting on the phones looking for a trade down.

But Trevon Diggs' name keeps gaining momentum as another option as well. I like him a lot as well and think he can emerge as this draft's best cornerback, but even I think that pick #17 is too rich for him.

There wont be a season until 2021 but dallas wasn't going to contend in 2020 anyway. Not sure they can in 2021 either but there's still some small hope there.

If Henderson, Kinlaw, or Chaisson are there at 17 we need to take them. If not, definitely trade down. Unfortunately we wont get a 2nd round pick, but a 3rd. The sweet spot of the draft for me is clearly from the 23rd pick range in the first round to about the 70th pick. Would love to get 3 picks in that range. Maybe use extra 3rd we get on the trade down to move up into the top 70 picks.

I like Duvernay from Texas. I watched him play the last two years, including six games in person and I like his demeanor on the sidelines. Looks like a leader and would make a great slot receiver.

Could probably get him in the 5th round. Bad route runner, but that could be taught.

Well just do a few short laps on this year.

yah buddy, but Garrett and Linehan are gone. This team was run by complete idiots. MM is now in town and the guy knows football. And its clear he has control and Jerry is giving it to him.

The big countdown clock on the home page is a bit of a clue.
