Thursday Night - Chiefs @ Eagles

I have to say, this game makes me feel a whole lot better about the Cowboys. Anyone else?

Not untl we can protect Romo with his bad ribs, can run the ball better than Murray's 2.0 ypa, can get Dez's back healthy, can get Claiborne to also be healthy and actually produce, etc. But hey we are in 1st place.

no because we should have won but our vanilla offense didn't allow and it's going to be the same vanilla offense that will showcased all year long. Garrett and his scheme should have been gone a long time ago.

a thousand times yes to this reply if you agree we also need a new qb.

Alex smith vanilla offense just won. Not that I like that passive play. But if the cowboys don't turn it over they probably win with the vanilla game plan they ran out there.

Count me in for this does not make me feel better. In fact, it makes me feel worse. We had every opportunity in the world to win that game and just didn't. Eagles had 4 turnovers and one was a pick 6 and they were still within 7 with 12min to go and almost got the ball back.

Any type of offense will beat the Chiefs. That's why you kick yourself for not extending the lead to 10 early in the 3rd and instead settling for a FG. Alex Smith and this offense is not coming back from 10+pt deficits.

The Chiefs have a look of a very fundamentally sound team that will beat bad teams and lose to the premier teams due to lack of scoring capacity. We lost to them.

It doesn't make me feel better, but only because it was obvious last week how good the Chiefs were. This was about the performance I expected.

I'm not unhappy with the Cowboys either, though.

You'll be surprised how many games a vanilla offence that makes very few mistakes and a defence that's elite will win you. I remember the 49ers being a fumble away from getting to the Superbowl with a Smith led vanilla offence and a stout defence. Sure Alex Smith isn't going to light up the scoreboard but don't count on the Chiefs being down by 10+ pts very much this year. With the exception of MAYBE Denver, I can't find one team that will destroy that defence in KC. Their pass rush is good enough to create problems with the most seasoned QB's. We have all seen the elite QB's fold like a lawn chair in the face of a fierce pass rush. I prefer that kind of football and more times than not it's that brand of football that wins the big one. I like what they are doing in KC!!

As an Eagles fan, I never thought that I would say this - their defense did not lose that game last night. They lost because of FIVE turnovers by the offense and the special teams - and next they have to go to Denver - 1 and 3 coming up. At least, they will have 10 days to see if they can get a few things right.
They had 3 games in 11 days. Now lets see what, if anything, Kelly comes up with after a normal routine of a game every 7 days.
So far, this is a bad team that MIGHT improve. We'll see.

Just like it was in San Fransico. He can only do that because he has a very good defense around him. The first time they get 30 hung on them and have to rely on Alex to bring them back, they will lose. Ohh and he has a stud RB to boot.

Yeah, he is playing on a 2-14 team from last year too. A team that had the same defense as this year. Just like when Luck took over the Colts and turned them into a playoff team. Alex Smith isn't wonderful or anything but I would take him over Romo for sure. He plays within himself and doesn't turn the ball over much at all, he is mobile when he needs to be, and he does what it takes to win. He will lead his team to the playoffs for sure.

Who knew andy reid liked to run the ball. kudos to him. he is not asking smith to carry the load and thus putting him in a position to suceed.
Kc had 37 rushes/ 35 pass attempts.
Say what you want Reid can coach
