- Jimmy's concern going into bye week was always us not being as focused coming out.
- Biggest concern of current Cowboys is if the takeaways suddenly stop. They sometimes come in bunches. Is the defense good enough to win the game without winning the turnover margin?
- Our 90's pressure wasn't just Charles Haley. He got attention and opened it up for the other players on the front seven. Will players coming back healthy do this? (I assume he's talking about Tank)
- On the coaches in news: Biggest focus should be don't create a distraction. I was always frustrated in Dallas when I never answered a question about football. Poor choices with our teammates brought negative adversity and media in the locker room. To me, it's unacceptable. Both coaches had control over these situations, didn't have to happen.
- Chemistry and culture is a direct reflection of head coach and his personnel. I am covering Detroit twice. Ownership told me they don't want the new hot offensive coordinator. They are looking for leaders of men. That was why they picked Dan Campbell and it showed in his PC, and when you meet him. In 1989, we found ways to lose games, that's Detroit right now, but I believe Campbell will have them ready soon.
- I wasn't ready for the Dallas media blitz coming from Syracuse. You had to be ready to talk. I've always been impressed with the local media in Dallas and how well they know the game. I think it's why there are so many ex-Cowboys in the media today.
- I believe Bill Belichick will stop the run to stop this offense. Cowboys have been on a roll, and everything comes off the run game. Kellen Moore uses the run to get the defensive eyes moving in the wrong direction. Belichick has proven he can do it to good offenses.
- What made me join Dallas was knowing the opportunities to get to play as a safety. I knew I would get a chance to shine. Also respect Dan Quinn.
- We turned around Clemson because we had a group of guys willing to work. The players before us already laid the foundation, our group just took it to the next level.
- I don't think there is a safety taller than me in the NFL now. I remember someone 2 years ago there were some guys my size.
- I think Quinn plays us the new direction of safeties. You need someone who can provide depth at linebacker but a DB like guy who can be fast enough to play safety.
- The main thing for us is don't eat the cheese cause we're 4-1. We're not the best we're going to be yet. We have to keep getting better. We're getting tons of turnovers but we have to stop giving up the explosive plays. We're not an elite defense, and we can't be complacent.
- I was close to my uncle, Javon Kearse, growing up. He would always give me pointers and how to approach things. We're just nephew & uncle. I went to Clemson to provide my own legacy and not live in his shadow.
- Parsons is blazing for a linebacker. Helps us a lot on defense. Everyone on our defense can fly around and get to the ball. I think as a group we're underrated. Always a group swarming.
- Up for grabs this week with Patriots. Week by week. Totally different from college where you go into games knowing you're going to beat your opponent.
