Forgot to mention this earlier... But Mosley was and still is pretty tight with Sparano. And on Wednesday when the idea of Tony possibly coming here next year to be OC was brought up, he said he thought if you asked them both in private, that neither side would be in favor of it.

Sounded like Tony wasn't crazy about being demoted from OC in 2007. And Mosley thinks he could get an OC job where he got to call plays, which Garrett wouldn't allow here.

Just FWIW, as many of us have discussed the possibility before.

(Now cue the "He sucks, we didn't want him anyway" posts.)

Is it a certanty that Sparano will not be back with the Fins? He sure has that group motivated and playing real good, hard nosed football right now. I don't think many guys could have lost their first seven games and then had the balls to change their approach in every way, keep the respect of the players, and get the team playing real solid ball. I think he is a good head coach and has shown that he has what it takes to be the top dog. Not just an OC.

Maybe it is just me but he seems like he would be a great guy to play for.

I can understand his unwillingness to be demoted.

It's pretty difficult to get a read on the front office of the Dolphins... they do a lot of off the wall stuff.

Makes sense. Must have been pretty emasculating to have someone with zero coordinating experience get playcalling duties ahead of you. I don't doubt that he'd never want to coach for Jerry Jones again (or with Garrett) with that being the case.

The only guy I can honestly see coming in as OC is Paul Chryst. Garrett tried to lure him last year, but he wanted to stay at Wisconsin. Even so Garrett would remain the play caller.

Houck is supposedly going to retire. OL is a priority. I know Wes Phillips is doing well but I doubt they'd promote him to OL already.

I hope Maxie and Campo are gone. I really do. I just think our secondary is too unstable and our DBs need some different techniques.

i dont mind cryst, since jason really likes him, and i would get the wisconsin offensive line coach, he teaches wisconsin linemen year in and year out or go after the michigan ol coach

i wished we could have gotten the ol coach that the titans signed but we didntbut what im interested really in besides OL coach is 2 things,
1st keep rob ryan
2nd who rob ryan would want as defensive backs coach, he is bound for sure if he stays to want his own defensive back coach and we can waive bye bye to campo

I have a hard time believing Sparano is getting an OC offer. OL coach sure, but not OC.

Oh, and one other thing, when was Sparano our OC? He came in 2003 as OL and was Assistant Head Coach, but I don't remember him as OC.

In 2003 and 2004 it was Maurice Carthon. Sean Payton was AHC and QBs.

In 2005 Payton was Passing Game Coordinator and Sparano was Running Game Coordinator.

In 2006 he was still the RGC and OL. Maybe he had play calling duties, but he was not the OC in title.

I was thinking Campo would be a great defensive position coach but I have seen very little player improvement in our DB's. Basic techniques of the various positions - locating the ball in the air, getting a good jam on the WR at the line, adjusting your position to routes in your zone, knowing when you have help over the top and how it impacts your ability to aggressively play the receiver, etc... seem to baffle our DB's.

I see alot of sloppy play - too much cushion (lack of understanding down and distance), poor tackling, quite a bit of jersey grabbing while in coverage, etc.. - is a direct result of poor coachinh.

We need a change of scenery at the DB coach position for sure.

Its no secret that Chryst is my choice for O.C. Would LOVE to have both him and O.L coach Bob Bostad here next season. Dont see him leaving Wisconsin though if he doesnt get to call plays. Its his passion. Guy just loves to sit up in the booth and dissect a defense in order to make the perfect playcall.

WHY couldnt he be up in the booth, make the individual playcall,....with Garrett on the field and also on the head set with the right to over rule him? Would seem like a perfect setup IMO. Well,....theres always hope it can still be worked out.

Juan Castillo for OL coach?

Looks like he will be replaced as DC for the Eagles .......coached OL there for 13 years. Maybe Reid keeps him......if Reid still has a job at the end of the year.

But I would certainly have Juan Castillo on a list as our OL coach.

We tried to get Matthews to come as an assistant OL coach last year. Is he in the same position with Houston, or is he the actual OL coach there? If he's an assistant, we may be able to get him as our OL coach next year.

He got the Titan's OL job(from his buddy Munchak) after he turned down the Cowboys for the assistant job.

i thought it was pretty interesting to find out that before L. Robinson got cut by the Chargers that Norv called Garrett and informed him that they are about to release a good WR because of the numbers game...giving Garret a heads up...and that Norv likes Garrett..(i believe it was Sims who said it during the game ).......anyway maybe there is some hope of Norv coming in to assist Garrett in some fashion with the O ....I would assume he is done in SD after this choke job of a season for them

Love to have Sparano as OL coach but not OC. I have no problem with JG as OC and calling the plays. Sparano would be a great OL coach though..

I think we could use a personality like Sparano's on the offensive coaching staff.

I can't see us hiring an OC. there's a chemistry between Romo and Garrett (together with Wade Wilson) that would be impacted if we bring someone else in. Also considering Jerry's frugal ways when it comes to coaching staff one would be hard pressed to consider bringing in another upper echelon assistant when he's basically getting 2 for the price of one as it is.

Clarify this if you don't mind.

I thought the whole point of getting an OC was to have somebody else call plays and let Garrett concentrate on being the Head Coach?
