Back problems are brutal.

At this point you just don't know if his back is ever going to be good enough to be a consistent winner (again).

The back could be problematic for the rest of his life.

Tiger has got to be among the wealthiest athletes in the world; if not the wealthiest.

It seems his body is giving out on him. It must be very hard for him.

Can we speculate if his body is breaking down from PED abuse?

well if he did it would have been after his father died; so I kind of doubt it.

He is done; just has to face it.

Tiger probably has close to a billion dollars to cry over & he can go design courses if he really cannot play anymore.

Or follow his girlfriend around & watch her ski. She'll do the big girl slopes & if his back is bothering him he can do the bunny trails with his little kids.

It's good to be Tiger no matter how much his back aches.

s.

There was an interesting story about the waning popularity of golf and the closing of golf courses in the U.S. on Real Sports with Bryant Gumble recently. Jack Nicklaus talked about how his business has suffered.

Donald Trump is making money hand over fist opening new courses. All over the world.

Interesting.

Unfortunately for Tiger it looks like his time is up. He's probably never going to be able to play consistently at the high level he once did. It's a shame because for a long time there it looked like it was almost a lock that he'd be the career wins record holder and stuff like that but his back just isn't going to hold up for him.

I can see how not having him on the tour would effect the popularity of golf though. Having him there gave people either someone to absolutely love, because he was so great, or someone to cheer against cause they hated that he was so great.

Without him there it leaves a big hole I'd imagine.

Being one of the first groups out on Sunday's probably makes that back hurt a little worse.

I mentioned this some time ago but who really knows. Probably never know for sure but to be fair, when Tiger was coming up, a lot of people said his swing would not last. Too much torque.

The more interesting question, to me, would be if Tiger would consider using PEDs now, in order to catch Jack (assuming he is not using now)? I hope not.

It seems Tiger has reformed & has his personal life back on track.

It'd be too bad if he had to quit. His drive to be great is to be admired. He achieved that.

I don't think PEDs helps with structural problems like herniated disks, or keeping disks from herniating.

No, but a heavy cycles can help you to build your back and trunk and allow your muscles to carry the load much better. I don't know, I mean, you are probably right but it will be interesting to see how he handles this going forward.
