This will be a little different.

So, what if...

We have heard Tiki comment that he might like to come back after this season of taking off. If Coughlin is still the coach of the Giants, that might preclude him from joining them.

Now what if, Dallas were to sign him to a two year deal?

Now before you nix this idea, think on it. The guy can play this game. We would not pay one thin dime in draft picks to get him. We could surely fit him in the cap. And he wouldn't need to be the feature back, but in tandem with Barber.

I have never been a real fan of his, but I will say the guy can flat take over a game. And without Eli, but with Romo, he would be just as effective, if not more, and wouldn't ***** about the QB who pouts and hangs his head.

If the window is now. And we have two firsts which could then be used for WR and CB. Wouldn't this fix a problem, stick it to the Giants, and give us a shot at taking it to the house next year?

And not force our hand with moving up for THE RB of the draft? (which I wouldn't be opposed to, by the way.)
Thoughts?

I wouldn't want anything to do with him because I have seen how he will stab coaches and teammates in the back. I don't want that in the locker room.

well i think part of the reason he retired was that he knew he wouldn't win a superbowl with Eli. he knows he has a better shot with us than the giants

Hos, mi compadre, what player currently on the Dallas team fits that exact description?

Championships do have a way of making people behave.

Kinda like the Emmitt "Diamond among trash" comment?

People say things...to me it had more to do with him needing some pub. after starting a new career in the media

I believe he was still under contract with the Giants when he retired so they still own his rights. Otherwise he could have signed with another team as a free agent rather than retire.

I know you're thinking TO. I understand that. It's a valid point.

I still wouldn't want him. I think he's a prima donna and I doubt he would be better for the Cowboys than simply keeping Julius Jones and making him Barber's backup.

Does him retiring change anything regarding rights? Remember when Seau had his teary eyed speech after "retiring" and then signed with the Pats the next day.

He was a UFA.

I just couldn't even begin to compare Julius One-Yard with Tiki Barber. Even though Barber is what...fifty-five years old?

And can't you see the headlines? Barber and Barber shave the Patriots for a Super Bowl win.

I can't begin to compare Julius' price tag to what Tiki would think he is worth.

I doubt he'd be happy as a change of pace back. He'd want to be a star.

I'd rather draft a RB.

He retired. How many timers have we seen a guy retire and change teams after a year out.

It happens, sure.

If this was a Junior Seau, I'd love the idea. This is Tiki. I hate the idea.

He's a hell of a good RB. I won't deny that. I just would rather not. He's past 30 and I never have liked that in a retread RB. Plus I think he'd want a fortune. He is worth league minimum to me, not a dime more. That'll never happen.

Count me in there. Especially this draft might be rich in RBs. Rashard Mendenhall declared too.

Most likely Ray Rice is going pro. Then maybe even Steve Slaton. I am not that high on Steve because he has too many fumbles.

Then second tier, Mike Hart, Jamal Charles etc.

My motto - "Never say 'never'." But I'm making an exception here. I must now come up with a new motto.

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is the year of the running backs in the draft. Don't do a Eddie George again.

We needed to get younger the last couple of years and now we are. So why would I want a 30+ year old RB? To was over 30 but he is still an elite WR and not a RB. Most RB's over 30 get old fast.
