Tim Tebow

The Tebow hate is as it is because the media force feeds him to us, continuously. Yeah, we get it, but they've pushed that kid to the ****ing point that ESPN felt the need to create a "Tebow Countdown" page for him on ESPN???

If he fails I'll laugh because the media is so heavily vested in wanting him to succeed it's become nauseating.

He has all the potential, right now, to be a below average quarterback or join the conversation of the biggest busts in the first round of the draft.

Derek Anderson looked good for a few games too.

Now ask yourself this, do you want your starting quarterback playing running back and carrying the ball 130-165 times a season which would be more than Michael Vick did in any season?

In three games he played as starting QB, he had 31 carries. 8 in one game (x16 = 128 carries) and then 10 and 13 (averaged x16 = 165).

31 tackles, plus 6 sacks in those three games as well. His propensity to hold onto the ball for too long or take off running is going to get him killed. I want no part of the kid on my team. Let someone else's fan base deal with the headache Virgin Air.

Tony Romo received just as much hype when he took control over the Cowboys. A lot of people hate him because of the undeserved hype.

Minus the fact that he tore up the NFL and was named to the Pro Bowl without playing a whole season?

Tebow's hype was coming straight out of college. No NFL experience, shoddy mechanics, and a playing style designed to lead to injuries in the NFL. ESPN's website went up for him before a single solitary preseason game had been played.

Tony had five legitmate 100+ passer rating games in the first 10 games he started, that's why he was hyped.

Huge difference.

1. Yes, I think Tim Tebow could start in the NFL and find moderate success now. But he still needs some tutelage.

2. No.

Uhh, I think he earned that hype with 2 National Championships and a Heisman under his belt. That's a pretty solid reason for some hype considering he was one of the best college players of all time.

It depends on how you choose to measure the difference.

Tebow's hype isn't because he's a great quarterback but because he seems to be a great person who happens to play for an NFL team. He's popular because people like him as a person and as a college player. How can you fault Tebow for that?

Secondly, exactly who is hyping Tebow as being the next Peyton Manning?

As for Romo, what he accomplished was noteworthy, but he was getting the type of attention reserved for quarterbacks who win Super Bowls. He hardly was there yet. And there was much criticism as to whether he deserved all the attention coming his way. Granted, as a Cowboys quarterback, any quarterback having any success would attract media attention. But there was a great deal of hype nevertheless. I remember the NFL Network special "Who is Tony Romo?"

I can't remember another quarterback having such a "special" featuring them, especially a back-up taking over the starting job.

Again, I guess it's depends on how you choose to measure the difference.

Got the crying down. What screaming and BS antics are you refering to?

This is bad?

I know one thing, you're coming off as a passionate crazy hating poster.
Yeah, he was staging all that while being busy winning 2 national titles and a Heisman.
Again, i'm not aware of this but perhaps he was being a young leader on a real successful college team. I've seen guys like Brady yelling at their team to get their butts in gear. It's gotta be done at times. So many on this forum wish Romo would do that.

Why don't you shoot an email to Elway and inform him of this. I have all confidence he'll seriously consider your expert opinion.

WTH do you want to cry about me hating on your Tebow Man Love? Really? He flat out stinks as a QB in the NFL right now and Elway has ALREADY said he is a DEVELOPMENTAL QB and I know for a fact he will be on an EXTREMELY short leash w/ Fox.

Please TRY and keep up, even tho your Tebow crush does get in your way of doing so.

Stop riding the guys jock like some Beiber fan and understand he should have NEVER been selected in 1st and he should never have propped up like a savior of the Broncos.

My Bronco friends here in the office even say the same things. They aren't enamored w/ him at all and were furious he was picked w/ the 1st round pick last year.

I come across as a lot of things btw. You pointing that out isn't anything new.

Get in line.

Wow. You guys get so personal in these discussions.

It is Tebow's fault. Contrary to the image he tries to put out there, he is really an agent of the...DEBIL!!1!1! :p: ;)

:laugh2:

One of my friends told me Tebow had to stop posing for pictures with women because just when someone was ready to snap the shot, women would lift their shirts to expose their breasts.

Poor Tebow. ;)

Sounds like you should wish for the media to fail instead of Tebow. All of this force-feeding comes from the media. I am sure Tebow didn`t go from reporter to reporter begging for articles and such. Tebow seems to be a upstanding young man that has only done one thing. WIN. He may not become a great NFL QB , but it won`t be for lack of trying . That is more than I can say for some QBs ( Leaf , Russell , Leinert).

It's not so much that I have man love on him. It's more like I think it's pretty funny how the simple fact that this guy breathes seems to anger you, did this guy steal your girl or something? Ahh I see he's a developmental QB, well, hardly a death sentence, but hey if he stinks so bad why haven't the just cut him already, I eagerly await your "insider" answer via your office buds on that. So now you know how much leash Fox has for him, some more "insider" info your office buds provided for you I gather. I guess I figured since he's a developmental project why would he be starting with Orton and all. Why would Fox have him on a short leash? I guess he doesn't want Tebow throwing a bunch of pics in practice huh!!!

:laugh2: I like this! So I have a crush? When clearly your far more obsessed with this guy than I am, thus your enraged original post and this post in this thread about him. Clearly you take Tebow very personal.

I don't know why you're stuck in a office job with a bunch of Broncos fans when clearly you should be in the war room with Elway, Fox and the gang this April advising them who should be picked.
BTW, what's a Beiber?

You need to come across a Valium 1/2 hour before you post! You're going to strain something with all that angst. Whether he turns out to be good or bad Tebow's probably going to be on TV for a long time, seems to me that medication could help you.

He's one of the most hyped college players of all time perhaps, but not the best of all time.

Heisman? Really? You're going to say the Heisman means he deserves the hype he's getting at the NFL level? :lmao2:

C'mon man, if my memory serves, the last Heisman award winning QB to win the big game at the NFL level was Roger Staubach. The rest of the winners over the last 20 years haven't lit up the league in any regard, and the only one with a ring is Charles Woodson. The Heisman should come with a warning like investment commercials on television "Winning this award is no indicator of future success".

Some of the best players in the college game never are even considered for the Heisman since they're not playing the spotlight positions on offense, or are defensive players.

Tebow has a loooong row to hoe before he deserves 1/100th of the hype he continues to receive.
