Reason for picking these players.

1- Zach Charbonnet RB UCLA

Reason- Tony Pollard will be a prized free agent and do not want to break the bank trying to resign him. I also expect Ezekiel Elliott to become a cap casualty. So a position of strength took 2 Big Hits. Charbonnet reminds me of Marcus Allen. A RB who can be dangerous both in the run game and passing, a 3 down back.



2- Devon Witherspoon CB Illinois

Reason- Anthony Brown is another free agent after the season who will be high on the market to keep him. Witherspoon gets overlooked but his coverage rating vs pass completed is near the top in the FBS.


3- Cameron Latu TE Alabama

Reason- I don't expect Dalton Schultz back another free agent who played this year on the franchise tag. That leaves Jake Ferguson & Payton Hendershot as possibly starters. Not really sure they are ready to step up. Latu is a solid TE fundamentally PRO sound from Alabama 's Nick Saban coaching him. Had some big games as a receiver. Rewatch him vs Tennessee(2022) and he kept Bama in that game. Gets overlooked but has the ability to become a good starter in the NFL.


4- Omari Thomas DT Tennessee

Reason- Big at 6'-4,325 lbs. A late bloomer but has talent to become a good DT in the NFL. Questions on Johnathan Hankins health. If Gallimore or Bohanna can make the next jump to solid starter

5A- Cedrice Palliant OG Marshall

Reason- Not sure Connor McGovern comes back especially how the Boys have played musical chairs with him bench or starter. McGovern is a good player,but I think the team under values him. So I expect he might bolt to another team. I believe Tyler Smith has proven he can be our LT. So we need to find a new starter at LG. Palliant is not well known, but his tape shows he is " NASTY" and we need that style of play.


5B- Karl Brooks DT Bowling Green

Reason - This guy is a dancing bear. 300 lbs and plays like a edge rusher. Smaller School might get overlooked, but has promise to be a quality player.



5C- Austin Reed. QB Western Kentucky

Reason- We could start to develop another quality QB behind Prescott & Rush. Reed has a good arm and a quick release. At one time this season, Reed was #2 in the FBS in Passing Efficiency. Looks to have a "Gunslinger" style to him, could surprise.



6- Storm Duck CB North Carolina

Reason- Depth at Corner. At North Carolina his partner Tony Grimes gets all the hype but before injuries Storm Duck was the star there. Hopefully he can heal up to challenge our starters.



7- Amari Gainer OLB Florida State

Reason- Depth at LB. Like Storm Duck injuries cost him but I haven't forgotten how talented he is.

If we are losing Pollard I would rather replace him with Gibbs from Alabama unless Bijan Robinson miraculously falls to us. I love Charbonnet also but he's a second rounder .
Devon Witherspoon is a borderline first rounder.

I appreciate the feedback.

I just keep liking Charbonnet. I think he probably goes early to mid 2nd round and would hate to lose him. I believe he will become a NFL star in next couple of years.

Witherspoon I believe could get lost in the shuffle of top CBs. Christian Gonzalez,Cam Smith,Eli Ricks,Kelee Ringo,Emmanuel Forbers,Donte Booker,Brian Branch,DJ Turner,Antonio Johnson,and Joey Porter.

This is one of my favorite draft you’ve done. Wasnt you quite aware of like Amari Thomas I want him. The running back in the first round I thought it was a little high but I like him and I definitely want a running back. Yeah it wasn’t two weeks ago that I wouldn’t understand this route but I’m on board

I think you have Witherspoon and Charbonet backwards for where they’ll realistically go.

I believe Bijan and Gibbs will go before Charbonet and that just pushes him even further down at a devalued position. I expect Witherspoon to go between picks 20 and 40. Appreciate the effort, definitely some names to look into on there.

I also doubt Pollard is gone this season. I expect a franchise tag for him and a pay cut for Zeke. How do you feel about Achane? I’d love him in the third personally. Think he fulfills the Pollard role well.

This will be a hard draft to figure for the Cowboys. I could see them drafting a corner, wide receiver, defensive linemen, offensive lineman, linebacker, tight end and running back in the first round. As of this posting I think the Cowboys will go linebacker because that will be the bpa at the 27th pick.
