1- Cam Jurgens C Nebraska

2- Amare Barno DE Virginia Tech

3- Lucas Krull TE Pittsburgh

4- Chris Paul OG Tulsa

5a-Jerrion Ealy RB Mississippi

5b- Dare Rosenthal OT Kentucky

6- Percy Butler CB/ S Louisiana

i would take Jurgens gladly at 56,there are like 15 players i would take at 24 before him.

Horrible - guarantee take wr. Think this guy does this on purpose but he puts so much effort which makes it weird. Might be worst picks possible.

Jurgens at 24 is a really big overreach. Yes, I've read he's moved up boards but that means he's gone from a 4th/5th round guy to maybe an early 3rd, late 2nd round. Not a first rounder.

I think you are over drafting most of these guys.

1- Cam Jurgens C Nebraska

2- Amare Barno DE Virginia Tech

3- Lucas Krull TE Pittsburgh

4- Chris Paul OG Tulsa

5a-Jerrion Ealy RB Mississippi

5b- Dare Rosenthal OT Kentucky

5c- Tariqious Tisedale DT Mississippi

5d- Ellis Brooks MLB Penn State

6- Percy Butler CB/ S Louisiana

You see Barno that high up?

He's a good player, but most people have him lower.

Not criticizing, because you could convince me, too.

Just curious why you see it this way.

Apparently, he won the competition last year. So he may know something we don't...

I always take that possibility into account before I criticize too much.

I see his reasoning here..Maybe EDGE is a priority, etc. Let's see how it pans out.

Maybe ask him about his reasoning rather than punishing him with scorn because you don't like it.

To be honest, I could be persuaded about this draft.

Seriously. To me it looks like Tim2 has dome some actual homework...

Like, what exactly is he doing "on purpose"?

He knows what he wants his team to look like. And every single one of those players fits a need. Plus, the general boards of players, the ones we use, are flawed. That proves to be true every year. I gotta give him credit here. He does this so much, he knows some of you would criticize, and posted it anyway.

No thank you.

Explain, Mr. Brain..

I think he may be on to something with Jurgens actually higher ranked player, after his NFL career is said and done.

This is sneaky... Like when we picked Fredrick, and everyone said, "who?"

Same thing with DeMarcus Ware, generally. Only a few really knew who he was before he was drafted.

Etc.

I look at these players, and I can see tim2 has some sort of scouting background.

Or something..

No doubt a different looking draft. But let's look at this in hindsight..

I get it now.

You draft Amare Barno in the 2nd.

Use him exactly how you use Micah.

This is actually a brilliant draft. Some of you are just too dull to see it.

So this first pick is like the Frederick pick.

And the 2nd pick is like a combination of Ware/Parsons

Plus, his players down the rest of the board are very solid!

Including Krull.

You guys need to get off of those draft sim boards. It's clouding your thinking here.

One of the best actual drafts I've seen this year.

I think this is a hindsight draft. It's tricky though. The cowboys might use a player like Barno differently than other teams.

Some people see this post and his final picks as random.. but I see some real work has gone into his thinking. And Tim2 is not paying attention to the draft boards from the media heads.

That's actually how you do it. I know this draft would get graded low by most including the media.

But this isn't a willy nilly draft. Serious thought went into it, from what I can see.

Talented analysis, imo.

Can you imagine Barno playing with Parsons?

I can.

Travis Fredrick 2.0.

Good chance New England grabs Jurgens.

Dude has a 10 RAS.

So, yeah, some of you are just being closed-minded.

This was a thoughtful analysis.

Just do not like the picks at those spots.
Also if we are going to draft an OL from Kentucky I would rather have Darian Kinnard or Luke Fortner.

I think the first is too high for Jurgens.
I think the second is too high for Barno
I think you can get much better TEs in the third.

I could understand if they went trade down crazy and took those picks in later rounds. Just not at those spots.

Lucas Krull fits what we look for in a TE though. And if that's the guy you want, and you wait till the 4th, you may not get him.

I understand his logic, especially if the Cowboys board looks different than the boards generated by media and other amateurs.

I can see Barno that high, personally. But he's like my pet cat this year, along with Troy Andersen and Haskell Garrett for a later round player.

Also, now that I see Jurgens, I see he's been sheerly underrated by most anyway. That happens, year after year.

This guy is like the Larry Allen of centers.

I keep saying. It matters not what round you're drafted; it's the evaluation that counts.

I see you don't like the evaluation here, and I'm not going to beat you up over it..

So, coming back to this thread.

How many of you would have been upset if we pulled a Belichick and drafted Cam Jurgens at 24 because we liked him enough to do something like that?

I actually think the Patriots did a bang up job scouting Strange. And I think he'll be a Pro Bowler for years to come. I can see they didn't think much of Linderbaum.

Must be the turtle arms.
