Time for accountability

I think after todays loss there needs to be a major shakeup..Drastic changes are needed. The first order of business that the team should make is to cut Ogletree and Felix immediatedly after todays game. Both players continue to make stupid mistakes. If by some miracle they make something of themselves in another team no big deal, they would have been FAs after this year anyway. This would send a loud message to the team, especially the offense that continued stupidiity will no longer be accepted. If these two players are still on the team, it sends the message that the team will not cut you or make you accountable. The team cannot be afraid to bench mediocre players for fear that their replacements might be mediocre. You have to make players accountable for poor play.

A serious talk needs to be had with both Dez Byrant and Tony Romo. Romo cannot continue to keep throwing interceptions out there. Will interceptions still happen? Yes...but those ill advised boned headed plays need to stop or Orton should get the starting nod. Will Orton give Dallas a better chance to win....Probably not, but Romo has to be held accountable for his poor play.

Dez Byrant needs to run better routes and catch the ball when it hits him. Again benching him does not give Dallas a better chance to win, but he needs to be held accountable. You cannot let someone continue to get their assignments wrong and not cut into their playing time. Doing so will just make him complacent if he isn't already.

Lastly the GM needs to fire his OC. It is obvious to everyone that Garret is in way over his head. Garrett should have his play calling duties stripped and given to Callahan. Should Garrett be fired, not yet. But you just can't continue with status quo. It is not working. Maybe Garrett will do a better job of game management if he gets to concentrate on being a "walk around coach." Hell if I was garrett I would give my playing calling duties to Callahan. There is no sense in having two jobs if you continue to have mediocre results. His refusal to give up play calling could get him fired if he continues to stink it up.

Neither Ogletree nor Felix will be cut.

They should be. They continue to make stupid mistakes. By allowing them to stick around, the team gets the message that your job is safe no matter what. If Parcells or Jimmy were the HC, I doubt either one of them would even be on the flight.

There won't be. Must be nice to be a Dallas Cowboy. You don't have to work hard or perform to your highest level

they don't have to be cut. getting benched sends a good enough messege.

and frankly, for this team "good enough" when it comes to accountability is a start.

Honestly, the players making the mistakes that lead to turnovers need to lose playing time. If that leaves us playing bad players, I'd rather see that than watch unforced fumbles, stupid decisions fielding kicks, and bad routes that lead to picks. I can live with the turnovers that come from the other guys making great plays. The ones that are forced because there's pocket pressure up the middle. The insane strips and monster hits in the secondary. But these plays where the ball is casually put on the ground, I can't stand. I'd start yanking players for a series. Or two. Give their backups a shot to unseat them. Tie goes to the guys who don't make mistakes, and the ones who do--no matter how good they are--need to be actively replaced in the off season.

People want to complain about all sorts of things, but the reality is that it's been ball control that's hurt this team consistently over the last several years. It's not play calling. And it's not talent, unless we're talking about the talent for holding onto the ball. It drives me absolutely nuts.

Couldn't agree more. Why the hell isn't Beasley getting some reps? Let him get some confidence and some chemistry with Romo. We saw it in pre-season, right?

I will never understand this team's hesitancy to play inexperienced players at times. Nobody might have every heard of Miles Austin if he didn't get a chance.

Garrett needs to take charge of this team and bench somebody when they make a mistake (ie. KO, Dez, Felix). It was nice that Dez got replaced on PR until the very last play. The team needs to actually punish players when they screw up.

Seems that every time Romo throws an INT because someone wasn't where they were supposed to be, the very next play the same players are out on the field.

I don't see any accountability, in that regard.

IT's not about playing inexperienced players. It's about putting high-salary players on the bench. I think our Owner has told our GM that that will *never* be done and the GM has communicated that to the HC.

"Dez, your off punt returns unless, you know, we need you or something".

just read this...

"I've been to boo school. Seriously. I'm sure the fans had the same feeling I did. I was frustrated, mad. I knew that we had dug ourselves a hole that was going to take a super effort to get out of. But I understand the frustration. I do." --Jerry Jones

the difference is that *HE* as owner and GM has the power to fix things, the fans don't. So to say "I feel your pain" is BS.

Yes Dez should not be returning punts. Yes Felix should be benched. But it won't happen, not with Jerry in charge.
