Tony Romo's season is likely over and the Cowboys are headed for a possible top 5 pick. Is this the opportunity Jerry Jones takes to find Romo's successor?

The 2016 quarterback draft class has five quarterbacks as solid projections to be taken in the first two rounds according to CBS Sports.

Here's a look at those five quarterbacks:

1. Paxton Lynch, Memphis

Projected round: 1st

Size: 6-7, 245 pounds

Class: Junior

Stats: 280 for 406 (69. percent), 3,670 yards, 28 touchdowns, three interceptions

Note from CBS draft analysts Dane Brugler and Rob Rang: "With continued development, Lynch could be this year's version of Blake Bortles if he declares for the draft - a prospect from the non-Power 5 conferences who checks a lot of boxes for NFL evaluators in an average quarterback class."

2. Jared Goff, California

Projected round: 1st

Size: 6-4, 215 pounds...

Class: Junior

Stats: 341 for 529 (64.5 percent), 4,719 yards, 43 touchdowns, 13 interceptions

Note from CBS draft analysts Dane Brugler and Rob Rang: "Goff has a snappy over-the-top release and isn't afraid to zip the ball through tight windows, typically leading his receivers away from danger. He possesses enough arm strength to complete deep outs to the opposite sideline and shows good touch down the seam."

After Sunday's loss in Buffalo, the Cowboys secured a top 10 pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. The speculation on what direction they'll go in the first round is all over the map.

But what about using their first pick on a quarterback of the future?

Tony Romo was asked to be the Cowboys general manager for a few minutes during a Monday radio interview. And the 35-year-old quarterback played along as he was asked if he'd spend a high draft pick on a QB in April.

"I think you draft whoever the best player is that's going to help your football team," said Romo, a guest on Norm Hitzges' Norm-a-thon [KTCK-AM 1310 The Ticket]. "If there's a guy that's really special, then you have to take a guy who in some ways is really special. But when you go through the evaluation, you can't reach.

"Wherever we're going to end up you're going to have a good player, and you got to ensure that you're going to get a great player regardless, that's the most important thing. If that turns out to be quarterback, if that's the best player, then we've got to take him."

I want QB, RB, LB, DT, DB in the first 5 picks. In no particular order. Well, sort of.
