Time for some Luck(y)

I love Beasely....
But I can't stand watching him return punts anymore.

Given we need some other spark on special team with Romo and Dez out, I think it's time to let Lucky return punts. On the punts that we are fielding at our own 10 we can still have Beasely go fair catch the ball. But on the other returnable punts we need some quickness and speed that Lucky has.

Weeden will need all the help he can get and a short field goes a long ways.

Beasley has shown he's a great return man, when he gets blocking. His decision making when to and not to field punts has been grossly overblown because of the fact he seems to have one of his own men in his face every time he catches a punt.

Whitehead showed nothing in the preseason other than the propensity to put the ball on the turf. Whitehead is a wasted roster spot, honestly.

Yeah, I was thinking that yesterday its time to at least try Lucky back there... other than Dez Lucky is the best returner we have with his speed and abilities. We need to at least try some screens and what not to him

get off it he's a rookie... if you don't think he showed anything in his return abilities you're blind man... he just needs confidence and with the way this team acts with rookies on the offense its hard to get that because it takes forever for them to get a shot

Lucky is more explosive than Beasley but Beasley is more sure handed.
For the next few game we need something extra in the return game. Just hesitate then get tackled for 1 yd won't cut it. We do need to take some chances and use Lucky in selected situations. If we don't use him might as well cut him now.

You're right we do need a spark on ST to have a chance to win games until Romo comes back. But if Lucky has to deal with what Beasley has the first two weeks then I'm scared he botches a punt.

He has a career average of 5 yards per punt return and has a single 11 yard kick-off return to his name as well.
