When Tony went out and Kitna went in, I thought the gameplan was catered well to Jon's strengths which are similar to Kyle's. Short to intermediate passes. Deep balls only to the sidelines. Run the football constantly and kill clock.

VS. NYG that was about as nice a gameplan as Garrett has ever devised utilizing either Tony or any backup.

The team seemed to play headier at least for a few weeks. Nice use of traps, and screens.

It will be difficult but if Kyle can utilize his weapons effectively, the Cowboys can win on Sunday night. I also think Orton throws the slant route (a Dez strength) much better than Tony does.

Just some thoughts.

I think Jon Kitna had a stronger arm than Orton...and he was one the best leaders on the entire team.

But yes, I'm sure they will have a specific plan for Orton.

Can anyone tell me about Orton's arm strength? Does he have a gun or a noodle, or something in between?

Well, I sure hope they do. My problem is not so much with IF they will have a gameplan specific for Orton..
My real concern is if they get behind 14-3 are they going to abandon the plan. That is my concern....and with this staff, it is a very very big concern of mine.

Very legit concern.

Well, he certainly impressed whoever the guy is who made this video.

Nice deep ball at about the 40 sec mark, just general highlight stuff though from 2009.

"The ultimate highlight reel for the ultimate quarterback" Did Orton make this himself?

Now that you say that, I do remember some of Garrett's biggest critics on here saying they thought he did better job of coaching the offense with Kitna. Hmmm....

Time for the Garrett game plan. "Just chuck it up to Harper (Dez)"
