Its just to darned hot in Oklahoma right now and it isn't even summer yet for another 10 days or so. Sounds like a great time though, have fun.
I was living part time in So OK during that US record setting July when it was 110+ half the freakin' month and hitting close to 120 in the panhandle. I believe that was 2010 and the only thing like that I ever went through like that was 1980 in Dallas, 40 straight days of 100+ and 113 on the day my second son was born.
I was about 10 when my parents got their first AC, a window unit. I like a lot about the nostalgic days of the old west and the 20's and 30's but the hell with any era without AC. I admit it I am a climate wussy. So, like an idiot, I move to south central Texas.
Summer is my least favorite month because school is out and there are all these little creatures scurrying about and they get ripe. I gotta carry a spray bottle of Febreze to spray them down or put them in dry cleaners bags. And all you parents, it's summer, they run, they play, they stink, WASH YOUR KIDS!!! I try to strap as many on the hood and top of my SUV when I go through a car wash, brushless of course unless they're really soiled, but I still make them sign a liability waiver.
