Is there supposed to be something challenging to this challenge?
I have never heard of this.
Is this like "Tebowing" or planking or whatever?

I have to say I would watch Pam Oliver do it...

Ah... Thank you. I had no idea.
How does this help ALS?

I'm guessing it somehow raises money or awareness...

I'm not really sure how it raises money if it does, but the awareness aspect of the Ice Challenge seems to be sweeping the Nation.

ALS is a worthy cause for sure. My nephew's wife has it and it's heartbreaking to see her wasting away little by little. She is gradually becoming unable to speak well and walk. For those unfamiliar with it, it's commonly called Lou Gehrig's Disease. It affects the nerve tissues in the brain and spinal cord and works very gradually but gets progressively worse over time. No known cure at this time. Sorry to put a damper on the fun but if you get the chance to contribute, pls do so.

You're right, its terrible. One of my mom's friends had it and as it got near the end I couldnt go visit the lady anymore. It was so pitiful to see a brilliant and articulate lady try to talk and communicate and you couldnt understand a word she said. I just felt awful being around her. Its slow and hard to see.

The part he left out is that Pam must be wearing a white t-shirt when doing this challenge. :D
