I've been waiting a while to post this hoping things would turn around here but the problem is obvious and it's all on Jason Garrett. Not on Wade Phillps. Not on our defense. Not on Tony Romo. Etc. Let me explian.
This all started way back when we had our 13-3 season. For 90 percent of that season we had multiple formations, multiple play selection, our run plays were out of the spread and we were scoring 30 plus a game. Remember the GBay game when we moved TO all over the field and we dominated them. All of sudden the playoffs come and we come out running 2TE, 1Wr, and 2 RB for most of the game when the Giants had a depleted secondary. We were getting yards(I think we had like 150 rushing) but we weren't getting enough points to win(17.) When we use that formation so often there's more chance of a false start, a hold, hands to the face and you have to be perfect for almost 10-14 plays to score a touchdown. Every person in football knows that does not fit our offensive line. We end up getting 3 first downs and then we get a false start and screws the whole drive up and it happen throughout that game.
Coming into the 08 season we have Felix Jones who is a special back. When we played the Commanders he didn't even get on the field. Let me bring to your attention the Titans situation. They drafted a back similar to Felix in Chris Johnson and they already had an established back in Lendale White. Jeff Fisher stuns everyone and makes Johnson the featured back out of the preseason. The rest is well, you know. If Garrett was coaching the Titans Johnson would only get 10-12 touches a game. Im not saying Felix is Johnson but give him 20-25 carries a game and lets see. There similar backs. You see my point.
Fast forward to this season. We are back to running the 1wr, 2Te, 2rb sets. When we played the Commanders we ran in that formation all game for the most part. We had like 220 rushing yards but 59 minutes of shut out football. In today's game we ran out of that formation alot and Miles Austin didn't see the field on a consistent basis until late in the second half. Roy Williams was the single reciever mostly and I dont even think Crayton saw the field in the first 3 quarters as wr. Take that late td away when we had to open it up and we scored 10 points and Miles wasn't given much of a chance. I know we threw the ball last week like 50 plus times but many of those passes came out of that formation in the first 3 quarters. It just does not give us points.
Jason Garrett is not a good coach. Hes trying to build our team into something were not. Marion Barber is a battering ram you can not run him more than 10x a game. Hes just not a home run guy. Tashard Choice reminds me of Ray Rice but he can't see the field because we want to run the Nebraska 80's run offense with Barber(jk). Our team is best in the spread and ill say it over and over again. Look at the best teams in the league.
Indy= Are they known for their running game? There a spread passing offense
Saints= duh 5000 yards enough said
Min= They were horrible on offense last few seasons and now they throw the ball all over the place with Favre to Rice, Harvin etc. They couldnt win with the best rb in football, that shows you right there.
Chargers= They run the ball some but they dont run for many yards. Phillp Rivers has a passing machine for an offense.
Etc and were running the 2te,1Wr,2rb for 60 percent of the game. That is so old fashion and is proven not to win today. Just look at us. Pittsburgh had to change their offense last season from a running base offense to a passing one and they won the Superbowl. How can you forget the Cardinals too.
You see my point, opinions
