Unfortunately Cowboy fans we are ran by a dysfunctional owner and GM and he’s not looking to next year. He’s All In on a year by year basis. A rebuild was never in his plans.

Afterall that’s all he can hype and sell at a time. To him rebuild means an admission he isn’t good enough now. Which at least publicly he continues to sell this team can contend .

I know . It’s only natural for sound football minds to provide normal strategies. But this is Jethro we are talking about. Time to roll in the mud with him.

And if he thinks this team can contend then let’s go All In ourselves. It’s not like what we think is best going to matter anyway.

So, if he’s seriously considering making some moves what are our priorities and where do we look for those trades to bolster this defense.

Agree with the entire post. But I wanted to point this part out. There is never a sequel. They go on a year to year basis. Everything is a stand alone year. The Cowboys haven't even signed our God like kicker yet. What are we doing? Looking to trade him too? Don't assume we're doing anything. This front office is pathetic.

i want to give your thread some attention but point out one thing.

I dont think a player or players are going to change the team even if we go all in. I know there this magical thinking of, said player WILL instantly upgrade the team. What i think is annoying fans but no one brings it up enough.

We are not doing the basics. Now some of that is on the coaches however, times have changed. You get that big contract that sets you up for life, you are done. Why risk your health or life. thats a league problem. hard to make guys who have generational money, work harder.

What we are not doing is tackling, understanding assignments and were, as expected running around doing nothing at first.

What this team needs more of is addition by subraction and some fans dont understand that. I feel some players need to go. Id rather build with guys who will learn with the system instead of tainted talent. The game is telling the league, depth is going to be far more important. Give me 3 guys who can play the game compared to the one talent always sitting on the sideline.

All we need is solid players, find some guys who wont break the bank, can learn the positions. the defense doesnt need to be number 1 with super stars at every position. It just needs to make a few stops. I like bland, id trade him but honestly, i dont think trades are worth it anymore.

Just wait until GP gets paid. He is going to be a TO/Brown combo package

Nobody with at least a bit of insight into human nature believes him or his son.

And the rest that does should not make you angry.

The league is what is is: Its a big entertainment circus. It has nothing to do with authenticy or sport itself. Its only about revenue. At all costs. If you dont like it change the system because thats the root of the problem.

Well he would have to pick up the bloody phone to do any decent trades.

What the hell did I do in a past life to deserve this moronic family of hillbillies for the rest of my life.

Yea but 30 other franchise’s don’t have ownership who must be GM’s running football operations. Big difference.

I don't know of any team out there yet that is in tank mode.

There is no team willing to trade their quality assets for a brighter future.

Obviously, teams tend to want to keep their quality players around this time of the season.

Therefore, if a team wants to trade a player, it's probably one they wouldn't want to keep.

We don't need to trade a #1 pick for another Mazi/Taco/Gregory.

Funny how the Jerry criticism is so utterly contradictory.

-Jerry never spends / Jerry over-spends
-Jerry never goes all in / Jerry is going to ruin the future by going all in
-Jerry never does anything to make the team better / Jerry is recklessly trying to make the team better.

This much we can agree on: he's an old drunk. He's egotistical and narcissistic. His need for control undermines coaches and culture.

I’d argue the Jets, Dolphins, Saints are getting close. And could be a couple more soon.

And you don’t have to be in “ tank mode” to realize season is over looking to rebuild.

Teams with stars who are in contract season coming up are most likely the best targets or candidates.

Of course. And that remains. But sometimes you must go with it and try and make the most of it. It’s not like better minds are going to prevail anyway.

This appears like one of those times we actually have one side of the ball worth going All In on. Just need to prop up other side.

Since it doesn’t appear a rebuild is in the mindset anyway , why not go for it.

I don't wanna argue against you.

Just wanted to remind you that there are way more valuable things in life to get mad about. But not about a league that has no deeper value at all. 30 other owners or not dont make that better.

This is about talk and fun. Because that sells. This is not about people who are professionals in their jobs. They are not. Leave it that way.

I agree and disagree. If we truly were all in certain years it would have been a good thing, but we never are. Then we have other years that are going nowhere that we try and salvage with a move that hurts our future. It's the curse of trying to stay relevant every year. The problem as I see it is we have no long term plan or vision. We are always going year to year, week to week. Plug a hole here, try a player or scheme here acting like each win is a turning stone, but never doing what it takes to truly try and win a SB. Sometimes, like right now, that means making all decisions with a 3ish year horizon in mind and other years it meant going out and getting a star to put us over the edge. But like a 9 year old kid with a poster on his wall Jerry always seems to play it like everything is going to break our way and every draft pick will be good and every bottom of the barrel veteran minimum free agent will work out because it did once or twice. Anytime a GM justifies a move by bringing something up from 20 or 30 years ago it's a problem. Like @Bobhaze said a while back and I absolutely use this quote all the time now when referring to Jerry: "hope is not a strategy"

Rebuild basically means, lose on purpose. Not everyone is wired like that. Many of us, don't like to lose in the hopes that we may win later. Win as much as you can, bring in players and make deals when you can. Trading Micah for 2 number 1 picks, is rebuilding,....many that want to rebuild complain about that trade. Hard to understand...at the end of the day, most won't give Jerry and credit, just all of the blame. That's how they are wired.
Like an old plow horse, wearing his blinders. Doing the same thing over and over again. Negative threads, over and over again. Homer do the same, but with positive comments...sometimes, too positive.
Time for some college football!!!! Screw Jerry....have some fun.

Pardon me if I take football more serious than just purely entertainment value. It is afterall a sum sport .

Must have been bad.....can't even enjoy a game and just complain about things you can't change. Damn, you were a bad man!!!!! Lol

Nobody wants the Cowboys to win more than I do. With that said, pro football is an entertainment business, and nobody runs a football business better than Jerry Jones. As with all businesses big or small, success is measured in dollars, not wins. Jones is the undisputed heavyweight champion of running a sports team when evaluating it as a business. I get the disappointment of not having won diddly since ‘95. It’s very frustrating, but anyone calling Jones incompetent is glaringly ignorant.

I think most aren’t really interested in the entertainment aspect but more the football side.

While he had much success early on with Jimmy’s built team not much on the field last 3 decades . And why the criticism. Which I’d argue is valid .
