Time to move on to Saints game, 24 hour rule

Well, not 24 hours yet. But time to focus on the Saints.
Not really responding to anything on the Atlanta game, as it does no good at this point anyway. Especially about players and coaches.
A lot went right in the first half, except a few things, and everything went wrong in the second half.
Not going to blame anyone but the TEAM itself. Atlanta is good, we now know that, well we knew it, but didn't accept it.

I am fairly sure Weeden will get the start, but I am not opposed to go ahead and start Cassell. I prefer it actually.
The OL seemed to get some of their issues sorted out, but offense too vanilla in second half, they figured it out. Defense got gassed. one more game, then we get help there.

Saints may be without Brees, but if we can't get a pass rush on McCown, will it matter. I sure hope Mincey is back. Doesn't matter that it's a Rob Ryan defense, if our WR's can't get open, it will be another dink and dunk, check down offense....and that will only lead to check mate, again.

One can say this is a must win game. I am not sure of that, but a win will mean a lot going forward the next 6 games. Get a win, then find out about our pass rush help against NE. Then Dez returns. See how that helps the offense then.

careful what you wish for. We have Weeden as our starting QB...

We get back Gregory, Mincey, RoMac, and possible Dez. You don't see a win at NYG, SEA, PHL, TB, or MIA?

I guess it depends on how quickly the guys get back into the swing of things. But all those teams are better than NO except maybe Tampa Bay.

yes we do and the offense managed 28 points, I would hope to put 28 points on the saints and be able to win. Last I checked Weeden did not play a single snap on defense.

Atlanta gave us 28 points until they figured out that all you have to do is load the box to stop the run and if it isn't a run, go after weeden. I am amazed they didn't start out that way. Our defense has success based on ToP. Our offense didn't do well at establishing that in the second half. I am not bagging on the defense or our offense. We have been plagued by injuries but weeden isn't going to get it done. Not when we actually need a QB to be able to read defenses and throw the ball deep to keep the safeties honest. It's obvious that the coaches don't trust weeden at all.

Atl did not gi ve us anything Cowboys earned it. What Alt did that Cowboys failed to do was adjust to what we were doing. Defense plays a role in TOP stopping the damn run is one thing they should be able to do, TOP is not all on offense defense has to get stops and put the ball in the hands of the offense not allow a team to drive the field and put up TD. Defense in the 1st 2 games did a very good job of that in this game they played like crap. I do agree we have injuries we have also added to the defense granted guys like Hardy are out due to suspension which is why I get mad at players for off the field issues that keep you out of the game. While there is little a player can do about injury they sure as hell can do something about their behavior off the field. Right now because of Hardy and Ro we are short handed that is on them

No, we did not earn those points. You're fooling yourself if you think we are and are going to be sorely disappointed as the season goes on. I am confused...one sentence you are blaming the D for not stopping the run, then you are excusing them because of Hardy and Ro being out. Our Dline is decimated and we are getting very little push. We got killed by excellent play calling. We couldn't stop Julio Jones and when we tried, their running game torched us. It's all about the initial push at the LoS which we did very little of. Our D isn't going to be able to help if they cannot get push at the line.

Not fooling myself at all. Dallas did earn what they got, what they did not do was adjust and Alt did. I'm sure you don't want to give Weeden and offense any credit it was some how a gift. Please stop the foolishness. You can sell that to yourself. Yes our D has injures guess what so does the offense.

Brees or Mccown whoever plays you know Sean isn't going to want to go 0-4, should be a good game we just got to adjust to what the defense is giving you, you know Rob is going to bring the house and someone will have the mismatch we just got to pick it up, if you can't trust Weeden to go deep, then why is he your damn back up!

Lol, I guess talking to a rock is easier in this case. Both sides have injuries and I am not angry at either side. My stance is that ATLANTA (not Alt...should be ATL) did not have a good game plan to start. If "Dallas did earn what they got," then they'd have scored in the second half. They didn't score in the second half because ATL adjusted correctly (as they should have started the game) by loading the box and daring weeden to throw it long. I said last week, that's how you beat this team. It isn't rocket science and many others knew this as well.

What if the saints coaches watch the film from the Atlanta game and decide to start the game with the scheme that Atlanta used in the second half. Hmmmm what would happen? Would we free weeden and let him sling it or would the coaching staff say " just take the underneath stuff- don't force anything Weed".

Despite what we think it will be pretty obvious to the coaches what went wrong and I dont think you will see the same dink and dunk we did last week

Defensively the Saints are still very weak. Up front in particular. If Collins starts there should be more cohesion on the offensive line. Been very little stability at the LG spot. 3 starters in 3 games. Cohesion is key to a good line and lets not forget the starters got held out alot in preseason. And if Leary plays it should be buisness as usual. We should be able to dominate the LOS VS the Saints and if we adjust from last week, keep it up for 4 quarters

Ah must we Uncle Hal? All tha fellas wantedto dwell a bit.

I would make one statement about McCown looking good against the Panthers. The Panthers are so worried about their pass rush they just traded for the Corpse of Jared Allen. Maybe it works, but that smacks of a desperation move to me.
