Thought this would be a fun exercise.

The past six months have been crazy on this site. Just last March-ish, we were going round-and-round about who and what position to draft. We were complaining about this franchise's failure to develop a young QB for post-Romo. We were contemplating the disaster of another season without Romo.

Since then, McFadden got hurt, Alfred Morris was signed, Elliott was drafted, Prescott was drafed, backup Moore got hurt, and Romo got hurt. It's been a whirlwind of change in the backfield from a year ago.

The glue in it all has been the offensive line, which we all know is one of the best single units in the entire NFL, if not the best, period. But consider the various possibilities that could have comprised this backfield if (1) Ramsey was drafted instead of Elliott, or (2) if Moore didn't get hurt and remained the backup, or (3) if McFadden didn't get hurt and Morris wasn't signed, or (4) if Romo was healthy. I'm going to add a another option...if Derrick Henry was drafted in the second round instead of Elliott.

What would the Cowboys current record be with...........?

Prescott/Elliott: 5-1
Prescott/Morris: ?
Prescott/McFadden: ?
Prescott/Henry: ?
Moore/Elliott: ?
Moore/Morris: ?
Moore/McFadden: ?
Moore/Henry: ?
Romo/Elliott: ?
Romo/Morris: ?
Romo/McFadden: ?
Romo/Henry: ?

My hope is that this doesn't degenerate into a draft argument or Romo/Dak debate. I just think it's interesting to look at the schedule and what the team would have done, and think about where this would be, had chips fallen and been played differently than they were. I'll hold mine for now.

To make it easy. I suspect our records would be pretty similar with any Romo/Prescott/RB combo.

Moore? We'd be like 2-4.

20 carries 51 yards. Morris 7 carries for 35. He should have been worked in behind Morris in a division game with very limited snaps in PS.

I am not going to go through the whole record process but defenses would have no fear of Morris and Dak would be facing entirely different schemes with any other RB In my humble opinion

The whole team looked iffy that day.

And while Zeke himself was admittedly was not patient, he did not have many holes either. They were geared to stop him, they did not gear up to stop Morris. Morris was a known entity who had not done much the last couple years to strike fear into anybody.
