Our expectations of the cowboys greatly exceed their ability. They will NOT win big this year. A playoff birth seems like a reach. The team is trying their best, but they simply are not that good. This is a VERY tough pill for me too finally swallow. The following are also true:Exhibit 1 - Defense:1. Anthony Spencer is not the answer for OLB. He got toasted all day. He caused us a sack with the facemask penalty, wiffed on an interception that would have saved us 7, and missed a plethora of tackles. We need to upgrade this in free agency or the draft. NO EXCUSES, we need to get this fixed!2. Ken Hamlin is done, and Newman is in steep decline. As I see it, Jenkins is far and away the best DB on our team. Major Upgrades needed in the secondary.Exhibit 2 - Offense:1. The OL is big and slow. Denver was flying all around us the second half. If we ain't runnin' it well, then we'll be losing faster.2. ALL of our WR's are average on their best days. They can't get open, and are perennially in some stage of player development. Enough already! Draft a real man, or go buy the RIGHT one in free agency. We miss TO a lot on the field. (I hate to admit it, but it is the truth)3. Teams have figured something out about Romo. Keep him in the pocket and he struggles with accuracy. He also gets the jitters. I like him, but if he doesn't turn it on soon, then the season will be over long before thanksgiving.Exhibit 3 - COACHES:1. There isn't one that I like right now. Cast them off, and start the team from scratch.Sentence - SEASON:1. Do the best we can, and tell the scouts to get working early. Frankly, 8-8 looks like a stretch. We are going to need to draft EXTREMELY well, because this team can't be a consistent winner with the players on it.Last words - EMMIT SMITH?1. Was spot on on his assessment. The team has no leadership, and just isn't that good. We all got mad, but the truth hurts.

Doesn't appear to be a SPEK system here so I won't worry about the flames. I think after a crappy performance I can handle any of the ones I'll get for this.

Do we offer up Ware for some picks and completely overhaul this team and its coaches in the offseason?

Ware is one guy, ONE. And I'll tell you what, I love him to death. As well as a few others such as Witten/Barber.

But again, he's ONE guy. There are NUMEROUS positions of concern for this team in the short term and long term. We're questionable on oline depth. Flozell is becoming questionable altogether. Our secondary isn't performing up to snuff, we could use a space filler NT and maybe let Ratliff be more of a pure pass rusher.

We NEED WR, cmon people, this game showed it. We need to get rid of Hamlin and on and on and on.

Please don't think I'm hating here, I'm thinking about the long term goals for this team.

not looking like Red thankfullly, but whomever it is they're going to have to blow this thing UP. Romo isn't the answer: painfully obvious, crappy WR's, no safeties and avg. DB's at best. what an absolute mess as usual JJ has cooked up: no depth, mediocre MESS. Still mad at Emmitt everyone for being truthful and saying 7-9? :banghead:

The team has talent. Shanahan or Holmgren would be my choice and would have this team contending for a Superbowl their first season. Blow it up ASAP before you have to compete for the quality coaches and assistants.

I had them winning 7-8 games this year so I'm not shocked that we suck right now against lesser teams.

I do think this is the last season for Wade, in any case.

Nice guy, but I don't see this team going too far, unfortunately. Really hope I'm wrong . . . .

Well I guess all thats left to do is tell the players so the can call it quits huh? I mean it's not like we faced a top 3 defence in the NFL or anything. yea we sucked it up but guess what Debbie Downer there's allot of football left....I think you might want to back off the ledge now

Forgot about Cowher. I might think Cowher over Holmgren but Shanahan would be my first choice.

Yes. I said this a few weeks ago. Everyone wants to bag on Carpenter. Well why aren't they bagging on Spencer. Is it time to consider him a bust also.

I really hope Jerry realizes that he missed out on Rex Ryan, Mike Singletary, Josh McDaniels, etc etc you get the picture. I thought for sure that the coaches would be gone after last yr's BS, but he wanted "continuity" - well we sure got it - meh football play.

This should have been the week to play a good hard-nosed game on all sides of the ball but, like always, one side of the ball shows up and the other just sits there and hopes they will get bailed out. Week 4 is when GOOD teams get in a groove and start playing consistent ball and here we are every week wondering what Dallas team is gonna show up.

Felix was missed today for sure but our Offense has been sputtering since week 1. Looks like the TB plays WERE on BUSTED COVERAGES because we have yet to have similar results against other teams.

I am most dissappointed in Marty B...I thought he was gonna be a breakout player but he just gets lost in the shuffle. Why doesn't Garrett let both the TE's loose down the seams, surely that can stretch opposing Ds?

I hope we pick up a WR in the 1st round, but more importantly I'm looking for a great coach to turn this team around.

Relunctantly, I agree.

This is a middle-of-the-pack team that will be up and down all year. There are absolutely not enough playmakers on offense or defense. It's going to be a long year but at least I'm able to accept it.

Watching that game was painful because never at any one time did I feel Dallas was in control of the game. It's a very sobering feeling.

In your opinion will Wade get gassed within the next two or three weeks... I mean, at this point, it seems like the only logical impact move that could potentially salvage the season. What do you think?

No, JJ won't fire Wade mid-season, IMO.

That said, IF JJ wants to eventually hire guys like Shannihan and Holgrem and Cower, he's going to have a lot of competition from other teams (i.e., Washington to name one team).

I wouldn't be so sure about denver being the "lesser team" I mean afterall, they did just beat Dallas. Their defense measured up, got the sacks, hit and pressured Romo all game. They forced turnovers and stopped the run so-maybe their defense is deserving this year of #1?

**** people you know chances are the sun will rise tomorrow.

Don't be so sure about Wade not getting the axe before the season is over, if this keeps up.

I hear people saying Jerry won't do it, but if this team is 2-6/3-7 don't bet against it.

I am sure even Jerry can only take so much of seeing plays getting sent in late and players not knowing where to line up.
