“We will the game. And you can print it in 3-inch bold letters. WE WILL WIN THE GAME!”
~Jimmy Johnson, days before the 1993 NFC Championship vs. SF, January 1993.

George Seifert responded with this.

Well, the man’s got balls, I’ll tell you that,” Seifert said. “I don’t know if they’re brass or papier-mache. We’ll find out here pretty soon.”

Brass.

How about they shut their mouth's since this team likes to talk and last time I checked, Talk is cheap! The season STARTS this week for the Cowboys....We'll find out if this team is a contender or pretender with the stretch of games coming up....

I really hope Dallas players just don't say a thing this week. Except, give SF respect by saying they are a very good team.
Then go and focus on practice, game film, and study their tendencies, but be prepared for something different as well.

Jimmy very early on probably year 2 was getting us ready for a Primetime game with the Skins. Said that sometimes you just have to punch that gorilla in the mouth. May have been a Monday night game, we did win btw…

Former circa 90s pass rusher Charles Haley really could jimmy his johnson.

Uh...it's really not time to do that.
5th game out of 17 ---- that will be played the the second Sunday in October.
How one views them both the same...

I'm going to have start ignoring some threads based on their titles.

Well, we were defending Super Bowl champs. So it wasn’t a long shot proclamation.

Leave that moment in the past where it belongs. People need to stop trying to recreate the 90s. Time for new memories.

Boasting like that doesn’t work with his team. It usually leads to us getting a butt whipping. Jimmy had the right to feel confident in 93. The Cowboys were coming off a Super Bowl championship in 92 and had beaten San Francisco on the road in the conference title game that season. We knew we could beat them at home.

Jimmy had enough sense to do it in a game where it was win or go home in the playoffs. Maybe Mike should save that for that time as well? No?

A pissed off 9er team would not be in the best interest for the Boys. If the Cowboys want to win this game then they need to move the ball and score TOUCHDOWNS! 3 and outs and a bunch of field goals will result in a loss....................
