The cowboys had a 3rd round grade on Randle. He must've had some redeeming qualities.

 Because obviously the Cowboys have such a strong record of drafting well they couldn't possibly be wrong right?

There is no one on the roster that is comparable to Murray. And at one point do the "this is Dunbar's week" threads/posts stop by the way?

Uh why would the Dunbar threads stop? He is a dynamic player who offers speed and matchup issues for other teams. That's just silly the guy was having one of the best offseason and TC on the team and that they were excited about him this year. Yeah he lost a Fumble but to get 1 touch a game is just absurd, so no they won't stop deal with it. Murray is a run of the mill back he isn't special and isn't untouchable at all.

Yup, Dunbar going to a small college, going undrafted, and struggling to find the field in the pros is just one all big conspiracy to keep Dunbar from being dynamic. You nailed it. If you really think Lance Dunbar is the answer at RB, then I'm not even going to bother to argue with you any further.

Who said answer? If that's what you take from that well there is no argument. You brought up conspiracy pal not me. I'm pointing out that he was on if the best players in the offseason and TC and the coaching staff was talking up a storm about him having a bigger role and he hasn't. So if pointing out a fact is a conspiracy you have issues and maybe you should go back to wearing your tinfoil hat. Romo was a small school UDFA as was Miles as was Church and Leary and the little guy everyone has a crush on Beasley. So you are the one being shorted sighted.

I would like to see the Cowboys get a match-up with the RB on a pass route against a LB. SD did a great job with their RB as a receiver against the Cowboys.

I think you're missing the point. Let's compare:

Pass Play %, Quarters 1 through 3
Broncos: 66%
Patriots: 60%
Cowboys: 61%

4th Quarter:
Broncos: 28%
Patriots: 51%
Cowboys: 75% (92% in the two losses, 48% in the two wins)

The Seahawks do run more, but even they run a lot more in the 4th quarter (67% in their first 3 games - the last one went to OT so I didn't count that one) than they do in the rest of the game (49%).

The pass/run ratio is completely skewed by 4th-quarter numbers, which are determined largely by the score at the time. The reason the best teams are near the top in rushes is because they're ahead in the 4th quarter and running out the clock. Teams run because they're winning; they don't win because they're running.

I agree that part of the skew is due to fourth quarter leads. I still contend that the better teams are more committed to the run in the first half. I left out the third quarter because quite often if the lead is big enough teams start the clock game in the third quarter. I started to count running plays on the game center and it takes a lot of time so I quit after two games. For week one the Giants ran the ball seven times in the first half and the Patriots ran it 16.

I think the Cowboys should use Murray in the vertical passing game against the Broncos. He can make catches down the field. That's something we haven't shown a great deal of and if we do that against the Broncos, I think it might just catch them off guard. Their LBs are super aggressive. I think we could get some big plays out of that if we show it tomorrow.

Through the first four games, in the first half, we ran 2 passing plays for every running play. The patriots were 59% to 41% or about 6 to 4.

I'd say below average unless Randle emerges as a player.

Give me a break. Murray is averaging 5 yards a carry and nearly has his entire career. He's also never really had an oline that particularly excelled at run blocking. He is a far cry from "average."

I agree with that. I'm talking about our stable of backs. Murray is solid. I don't think much at all of Dunbar or Tanner. So unless Randle can play, we have a below average RB depth chart and it should be addressed in the offseason.

My apologies, I misunderstood your post.
