Vanderjagt has great leg strength and great consistency with his kicks. His mechanics are nearly flawless, and he has proven his ability to kick on any type of surface and in all types of weather conditions. He has outstanding accuracy, and the ball seems to explode off his foot. He gets good height quickly on his field goals, and it is difficult to get him out of his rhythm. He is not as consistent with his kickoffs. He kicks the ball low and tends to put his coverage team in a difficult situation to be able to cover effectively. He gets good distance on his kicks, but his hang time is not what you would like. He has established himself as one of the best in the league.

Also, 2 years younger than Adam Vinatieri and probably $1 million a year less.

Maybe we should just sign Chuck Norris...

He'd struggle with accuracy considering ever kick would be a roundhouse kick

Vanderjagt can't kick off. We aren't going to carry three kickers on the roster.

I'd consider 2 kickers. It's an important position. Draft a college kid with a big leg to kick off and groom to take over for Vandy in 2-3 years. I can't take another season of clowns kicking for us. Get a flipping pro kicker.

I just have this feeling at the end of the day AV stays put and NE pays him.

Vanderjact has had some leg problems lately and has lost some power, so a fair comparison is last year. Not when he was in his prime factored in.
