I think the time has come as we watch this season go into the abyss to trade CD lamb.

If we could get two number one picks and a number two get rid of his huge salary and rebuild the team.

As long as George Pickens continues to shine he is 2 years younger than CD and I don't think we're going to be able to pay both of them.
So do like we did with Micah trade him a few years early at the height of his value rebuild the team with guys on rookie contracts.

The writing is kind of on the wall we can't beat bad teams so take this season for what it is and stockpile draft picks plan for the future.
The guys we are paying the most money are not stepping up and making a difference when it counts we saw it in the Philadelphia game with CD and the drops we saw it at the end of yesterday's game with an opportunity to win.
Our most expensive player couldn't get us over the top.

Jerry got the ball rolling with Micah now it's time to purge this team of expensive players that don't make a difference when it matters

The cap hit isn’t worth it.

Plus it’s silly.

Cowboys have to learn how to get better like the rest of the league…..trading your best player isn’t always the option.

We are about a year and two months late to trade Lamb. Its almost impossible to move a player on year 1 of a massive extension. Even if you do you're likely to get significantly less as the other team as to take on a deal that was built to fit your cap situation, not theirs.

The time to of soft rebuild/rebuild/tank whatever you want to call it was after the Packers playoff loss.
But the team went half-*** in, locking in Dak and CDL.

A trade of CDL this year would spark a ~42mil dead cap hit for 26, or ~4mil more than his 2026 cap hit. AndI believe they weren't going to let CDL play at 38mil next year, as a restructure is part of their methods to free up cap just enough to look cap strapped.

No. Pickens is awesome right now but we are in a position of strength at wr. Why on Earth tinker with quality depth? Best moves are the ones you don't make sometimes. Ceedee might actually be extra motivated if you think about it. He's watching his Robin if you will, look better than him ie Batman, He's thinking he wants to get in there ASAP to remind folks, maybe himself and Pickens, that he's still top dawg. I love the competition in the wr room. Unfortunately we have too many resources tied up on offense and not near enough on defense. Micah has nothing to do with it either. We were really bad with him. We are worse without him. Eberflus is compounding it. Diggs is washed. Bland not much better.

I think we get just one first round pick at best. We're not getting 2+ for Lamb. I'd take that every time.

Trading for draft compensation on a bad team is never a bad idea. But, if we just use the cap savings to sign our guys, there is no path forward. We need to shore up holes in free agency every offseason.

Every team in the league gets to draft. They all hit on some and miss on others. The draft isn't what separates good teams from bad teams. Its coaching. Thats a lesson Jerry Jones refuses to learn. He still thinks the 90's cowboys were only about stacking talent. Nope.

1. I don't think you get 2 First Rounders for CD. 2. You will pay Pickens just as much if not more than you are paying Lamb. 3. If anything you move Pickens now for a 1 and hopefully another low round pick.

Jerrys made his one major trade for this century.....ain't happenin

Trade Pickens like i have been saying
You are going to pay him the 30 million he will want
Instead of waiting for him to walk and get s comp 3 or 4, get a 1 or 2

CD is untradeable

I actually love this idea for a couple of reasons. First it could potentially net us some good draft picks which if used properly could pay off down the road .

Second, and most importantly, this accomplishes the prinary goal for many on this forum (protecting Dak) by extending the excuse that he does not have a quality #2 receiver to lean on

I disagree. CD cant even stay on the field.

I think we would get more for lamb and he's 2 years older.

We just got him hurt using him as a running back.
Time to go at top value before he's Michael Gallup.
