Anyone have any tips for this? Or does it always just a tedious task? Please post your shortcuts to the art of cutting out. :)

There is a wallpaper gallery at the forum. You know the one. Look for "others" or something like that at the bottom of the thread. There are instructions on how to loop an image and crop it. Thats the most effective method I know, but sometime its inconsistent, but handy at times.

there are a few choices here.

the polygon lasso tool zoom in to 300 percent (my choice)
touch up with the eraser tool if need be.

some guys just use the eraser tool and zoom in to 600 percent

extract tool works to.

it's a matter of finding what you are comfortable with. You can go on googgle and search photoshop/cutting out an image. There will be plenty of tuts. It just takes time and patience to get better

I think it was you who posted those instruction Diehard. Thanks for that. It has periodically saved me some time.

There you go Otero. Step by step instructions along with some visual aids are in that thread I mentioned, and you can thank Diehard.
