Tired hearing about Trap Games

If I hear one more reference to another "trap" game, I'll going to throw up. Where does my rant come from? It's from listening to Talkin Cowboys on Thursday when someone said that the Vikes game could be a real "trap" game since the Cowboys could be looking forward to their bye week.

First time we heard a lot about "trap" game was just before the Rams. We put on 14 puts against them in the first half & blew them out with 21 points in the second half. Then, it was just before the Bills game (maybe trap was true in that case) when Romo played poorly because he was confused by their playing a cover 3 but showing a cover 2. And here it is again, now the Vikes game is a trap game. I bet some will say after the bye week that when we meet the Eagles that's a trap game. It will be presumed we'll looking towards the Giants who probably our only legit rival (maybe along w/Skins & Packers) to NFC supremacy.

Trap games are for veteran teams who've won a lot of games and now playing an inferior team. It's not for a young team who still must prove their legitimacy -- which wasn't helped by losing 3 TDs (game closer then that) to NE.

If our team with a 5-1 record can't beat the Vikes, it's because we aren't anywhere near the team we hope to be. A good team wins this game particularly coming off a big loss. They should have a chip on their shoulder and come out with enough intensity to blow the Vikes out of the water.

The Vikes must be taken seriously. They've got 2 good RBs, one of whom is great (also good WR/returner), a really good DL against the rush but w/2 ends who also pretty good pass rushers. They also have a young QB whose QB rating is under 50 but has a great arm and can hurt us if our secondary stinks it up again. Our DL must bring pressure on their QB & confuse him. But make no mistake, this game is ours for the taking.

Their secondary, like ours, is the weak link. Griese throw for 3 TDs 2 INTs and 350+ yards against them but the Bears defense is injury ridden and a shell of itself.

Read somewhere that Vikes might try confuse Romo in coverage by playing more DBs and less LBs and showing him the cover 2 which in reality will be a cover 3. Romo will see that cover 2 but really cover 3 until he produces a few great games against it.

Admit I'm nervous about Cowboys performance. Heck I'm nervous 2-3 days before every game after more then a decade of losing. If the Cowboys were playing my local high school football team, maybe then I'd be confident & not always so worried.

Sure glad Fox changed timing of tomorrow's game or else it would have been sopcast for me. Let's all hope for a great victory and great play by our whole team in all areas of the game with no injuries to us.

This is the first time I've heard anyone use the term trap for this game. It doesn't fit, IMO.

The Bills game...far inferior (or injured) team, on the road, jacked-up night crowd on MNF, "Boys playing a much anticipated game the following week. Classic trap game!

The Cowboys are coming off a humiliating loss and are playing a respectable conference opponent at home. So unless they're focusing on their break next week, they have no reason to get "trapped" here.

I don't see any potential trap games left on Dallas' schedule. The Jets game, sandwiched between the Commanders and Packers would be a candidate, if it weren't at Texas Stadium on Thanksgiving.

I agree with you 100% and I never heard anyone say this was a trap game until now. If we do not win this one, then we do have serious question marks on this team, but I do think we will do more than fine in this game.
