IMO if you're talking about a TE solely as a pass catcher, that's true. If you're talking about overall TE play (i.e. including blocking), then it's Witten.

gates is a top 3 tightend so it's debateable.

They just explained the injury on TV. "Turf toe" is a sprain of the joint on the big toe. It makes it impossible to push off. A pretty serious loss to SD, IMO.

Yeah, they explained it right when I was reading your post. Never understood the severity of the injury until now. Even back in the day when Deion had it, I didn't really get it.
