I would love Fisher here, as long as Jerry gives him the same respect as he does Bill.

Heck, I'd be OK with Zimmer, but that would be the same as jerryball again:(

That is the key to any new coach who may come here in the future. Jerry has to allow him the freedom to run the team. Jerry will always be involved as owner/GM but what takes place on the field and in the locker room has to be the HC domain. I know people love slamming Campo but in truth it is hard to know what kind of HC he could become when he was being under minded and players allowed to go over his head. This is not to say Campo would have been great but I don't think he ever got a fair shot at it here. I say this as one who likes Jerry Jones but in the case of Campo and Gailey I think they were not given the authority they needed to do the job as Head Coach.

I think the next coach of the Cowboys could really depend on how well the defense plays this year, maybe next year under Parcells. If they are dominant in the 3-4 then we will bring in a guy who runs it...I can't think of any names off of the top of my head.

However, if this defense continues to play the average way that it did against Jax, I would be all for Jeff Fisher and him possibly bringing a 4-3. If he can make the switch to 3-4 and keep Zimmer who could be familiar with it, that would also be an accomplishment for the team.

I don't think we'd have a tough transition back to a 4-3. Ware and Ellis at DE, Ferguson and Spears at DT, with Adoyele, James, and Carpenter at LB.

i would'nt mind fisher if we got a gm, the problem is i don't see jerry trusting most gm's and he certainly is bad at drafting guys.
no reason to change the defense, the 3/4 is not that complicated to run and you would still have a dc to run the defense

we aint going back to the 4-3, so y'all can forget about that, we've invested alot in LBs, and probably still aren't done there yet

I still think Zimmer is our next HC, or Chris Palmer, or Todd Haley

if we signed Fisher to be our HC, we wouldn't need a GM, I think Jerry, Stephen and Ireland, more Ireland and Stephen than Jerry ;) would be just fine

agree on the 2nd part, plus we've invested too much in front 7 personnel for the 3-4, to all of a sudden go back to the 4-3

He also played and coached under Buddy Ryans 46 defense if I remember correctly. Fisher played LB for Chicago before he became a coach. And when Fisher got the HC job in Houston he brought Buddy in as DC.

Not that it matters, but Buddy was brought into Houston while Pardee was HC. He then punched out Gilbride on the sideline, and that was all we heard from Buddy in Houston after that.

Fisher was brought in with Ryan I believe.

I would love Fisher to be the coach and he was on my shortlist when we hired Parcells. He would be a perfect fit for this team and I think he would do just fine with our D.

So true.
How would like to be named HC and then told there is a OC coming in who will run the offense his way and stay the hell out of the way. My only hope is that Jerry has looked back and realized how corny he was running things.:banghead:

I think he already has, that's why he brought in Parcells

I like Fisher and would love to see him here if Weiss isn't a possibility. I wouldn't mind LeBeau, either.

With our 3-4, I would love to have Dick LeBeau in Dallas.... As a defensive coordinator, but as a head coach. No.

As summerisfunner mentioned I think he has which is why BP is here. As far as a guy like Fisher I'm not concerned about what defense he has used as much as I am his ability to run a football team. Jimmy Johnson was not a big X's and O's hands on type of guy he delegated that to his coordinators so that he could focus on the overall picture.
