Titans owner Bud Adams is being advised by senior executives to cut ties with quarterback Vince Young and retain coach Jeff Fisher, according to a league source.

Adams hasn't made any decisions, but he holds all the power and is believed to be aware that Fisher will not return if Young remains on the roster.

"I will make the decisions that I feel are in the best interest of the team," Adams said in a statement. "I do understand the time element involved and would expect to make these decisions in the near future

Maybe he could just fire Fisher and hire Vince the be the QB/head coach then he won't have to deal with any bogus Rooney rule interviews.

Boy does cutting Vince ever play well into most scenarios of us picking up Peterson in the draft. They'd have to take a QB if they don't do something idiotic like trade a pick for Kolb.

Fisher is under contract.. how would he just not return?

He would simply need to attend the Jimmy Johnson school of snubbing your boss in public!
:lmao2:

I they're gonna trade Young and draft a quarterback.
I don't think anyone would trade for Young.

And it was said RR supporters are bitter, angry and upset. :lmao:

The other option the owner has is to Fire Fisher and get rid of Young as well.

I really don't know why the owner is so hardcore over young. He might have tools and has done ok to good from time to time but he just seems so immature and a little unbalanced. I understand the investment of draft pick and money, I understand the idea that you don't want to have to start over by drafting another QB in the top of the round. I understand he has texas ties being from Houston or something.

But I just don't see why you would make such a big stink over young vs Fisher.

Personally I think Fisher is the better option of the two but that is just me.

pretty good article. Fisher does seem to get a pass in all of this in the media.

Interesting article.

I will say this, his record over the last few years is not all that impressive However...if he is fired you will bet he will get a good deal of offers to coach elsewhere and get a high dollar contract. People around the league still think he is a top notch HC. I don't think Vince Young is in the same category of respect and desire to have as Fisher would be to other teams.

Now that does not take away from the article. I am just pointing it out. Jeff would easily land a HC gig somewhere else, Young is not guaranteed to get a starting job somewhere else and chances are he would be a backup somewhere else.

You're probrably right about him getting another good job. I actually wouldn't mind him in Dallas. Just think he needs very good assistants.

Not w/ his behavior and leadership qualites. The guy has talent but has shown time and time again ,when the going gets tough....the Vince get's going out of the stadium.

NO WAY!

I recommend the Titans keep both Fisher and Young. I'm interested in watching the soap opera between them continue. :D

:laugh1: Well that might take some of the negative spot light off of the cowboys that is bound to happen during the season.
