Process, RKG, JAG, look at the film, stack good days on top of good days, are all terms I become to dislike. However, with MM at least when he says process, he means it. Not just a term thrown out there every other sentence.

Though JAG was a Parcells term, which too many used it when it did not apply on here.

The word "process" is used just as much by Belichick and Saban. Process = progress.

Process: a series of actions or steps taken in order to achieve a particular end.

The difference between Garrett and those two coaches is that they are the process, I think he meant that as the process of keeping Booger from himself. Having McClay on board, building the OL, trying to return to the run game was all part of the process.

I think the DC HC job is the toughest in the NFL, probably all sports, and I think Parcells would agree with that.

Exactly. Without a process a team is just winging it. Garrett's downfall wasn't having a process, it was having a process that didn't yield the desired results.

The undeniable fact to me is that the process didn't include the HC getting better at his job. I can honestly say he didn't improve at all which leads me to believe we were always getting the best he had to give.

I have hope that McC will improve because he's actually taken some of the responsibility for getting fired. Part of his 2019 process was self evaluation.

I do not believe Garrett ever thought he might be the problem because he was playing the part of a HC as best he knew how.

One thing I do not get is the anger toward him. I do not think the man shirked his responsibility, I think he performed the job to the best of his ability, he just didn't have the aptitude to be a HC and his boss running interference for him didn't allow for him to go through his own process.

Isn't it odd that the OC the Cowboys have now has the same kind of history as the last HC? Predicted to be a coach, career backup QB and from a football family. I hope he processes the information better but I do believe he will get better feedback than Garrett ever got.

The first clue that he might have been in over his head was the minute he gets the job he's off to Jimmy's boat and picking the brain of Coach K. It's not like he wasn't looking for answers; he just never found them.

Exactly - Nick Saban is famous for a Process and proper who’ve worked with him. Own use a variant of his “Process” themselves.

All good coaches have a process. Or a set of values that guide their decisions. The problem with being the HC of the Cowboys hasn’t been having a “process” or not. It’s been having an owner who meddles waaaay too much in the process of football decisions. That’s been a much bigger problem than the obvious problems with Jason Garrett’s limitations, which were many.

Any team without a plan or a process of achieving their goals is living on a wing and a prayer. I always felt that was a cheap shot at Garrett. In the end he did not get accomplished the main goal and is now gone. McCarthy now enters the hot seat

Nothing happens in football unless you have a plan. The steps you take to make that plan happen is "the process". It has to be circular so that the steps taken are evaluated for effectiveness every so often and corrections made to improve "the process". Garrett was too stubborn to make the changes to keep his "process" effective. He just expected to keep doing the same thing over and over again and get different results.

lol....wow. there's you have to have a process to get results. too many want instant. I equate it to the world these days. Instant potatoes, there's a reason they don't taste as good as real potatoes.
