I believe the first 53-man roster might have only 2 RBs. After a few players move to short term IR (Gallimore, Ball, McKeon), maybe FB Ralston will be added or perhaps another RB cut from another team.

Parsons is 5th on the RB depth chart. Maybe he will serve as the emergency RB.

We can scout waivers and see who gets cut. Maybe find a few guys for the practice squad too. I don’t see a need to throw a lot of resources at a 3rd choice RB. Some reasonable ones will get cut.

I’ll be surprised if it isn’t just two, with Ralston the potential fullback. They can always keep a third or fourth on the huge practice squad.

I think he signed with the Raiders (?). He is still hanging around. Good for him. Heard he is a hard worker and gives 100%.

Finding a RB wouldn’t be hard. They could go sign Peterson if he’s in shape or Alfred Morris if they want a vet.

No, the rules implemented starting with the Covid season allows 2 players to be promoted without cutting anyone from the 53.
- It is referred to as a 55 man roster.
- 4 practice squad players can be "protected" from being signed by another team.

- This is a weekly designation.​

- A PS player can be called up as many times as needed; however, they only avoid the waiver system the 1st two times.

- This is not really an issue because non-protected PS players can be signed by another team anyway.
- The only issue is that once they clear waivers, the player has the option to sign with another team's PS.
- Normally, PS players can't be signed to another team's PS, only to another team's 53.
- If a player was just promoted to the 55 for a week, then he is unlikely to sign with another team's practice squad anyway.​

@xwalker Thanks for the info. Maybe you know the answer to this question. Someone mentioned that the emergency QB this year can play and doesn’t have to be designated as active on game day. Is that true and, if so, I assume the emergency QB has to be on the 53 to play and not on the PS.

No way either of the last two RBs make it. Unless we pick up a quality RB who plays special teams after cutdowns, we will keep Ralston. A FB is important in the red zone.
