Some people on this board were saying that exact same thing about Bosa a year ago. Not saying you specifically, but that was a popular refrain with him as well.
Now I don't think McKinley is Bosa, but his motor and athletic ability are pretty impressive. My only worry about him is size and whether he is more suited in a 3-4. Not worried about his bend, he is plenty athletic enough.

Bosa has grown man strength to move o lineman out of his way. McKinley doesn't play with that. Like I said earlier, I acknowledge he has a decent skill set and wouldn't mind him at all in 2nd round. Just not 1st round material to me. If someone wants to reach for pass rush in desperation Id be perfectly fine waiting on guys like Harris, Lawson, Walker, Willis, Basham, or Kpassagnon in the 2nd. DE prospects 6-11 or 12 in this class are all pretty similarly ranked for me. They are all going to need a decent amount of development, no need to reach in the 1st.

A couple of things to take into account for the draft some of our major competitors for the edge DE position will be picking behind us this year(ahead of us Cleveland, Ravens,Colts, Bengals), namely the Steelers, Falcons, and Pats.
Carl Lawson even with his injury history would be awesome IMO, but his presence in draft media has been shown in the top 15 through the second rd. Taco Charlton is a project, Harris and Walker make me think about who is left in the CB derby at 28 or BPA. After Lawson IMO the edge talent levels out for a while no Demarcus Ware talent is sliding down our way unless Risen releases another Tunsil video the day before draft day.

Agreed. I think he goes higher than late second rd myself, a 3-4 team will fall in love with those measurables.

For me now realistically (Garrett/Barnett long gone) it's Charlton, Thomas, McKinley, Harris, Willis

Walker is a player I like very much, just not sure where he fits. If his arms are long enough, he could be an option.

Yeah I don't think McKinnley lasts that long either. Someone will take him inside the top 50 without a doubt.

For me it's Garrett, Allen, Barnett, Thomas, Taco, or wait to take a DE later. Don't force it because Rodgers left a bad taste in our mouths.

Walker is a pure LDE and occasional DT to me. He's a pretty good player, but I think we already have that job covered with Irving and Ty Crawford.

First three will be long gone which is why I left out. Agree with the order, Barnett is closer to Garrett than people think.

He has some speed and bend. But it was interesting watching him versus Bolles of Utah. Fire up that footage.

Eventually, he had to switch sides to make an impact.
Not sure I'd say "eventually". He played all over the line to star the game out. It certainly wasn't like he stalled out against Bolles and was moved. He had a TFL and sack fumble in the first 10 minutes of the game. Then drew a holding penalty from Bolles to start the 2nd quarter. The plays he was facing Bolles in the first quarter were pretty much all in the opposite direction.

That's because Bolles is damn good.

So good that despite our position strength, I'd seriously consider him at 28.

He is too small IMO....which is my fear...JJ trading a 3rd or 4th to move up in 2nd or even 1st to get him......:banghead::banghead::banghead:
Why do y'all keep saying he's small? Gregory is small. Harris will weigh over 250 at the combine and he will not be available in round 2. We'd be idiots not to draft him. I'll bang that drum all day. It would be a steal to get him at 28. More explosive Noah Spence

That is my point, smallish for a DE and can get moved off their path to the QB too easily....in Gregory's limited playes, has he made a difference pass rushing? 2 DE's 250 pounds or so...no thanks....speed is good, gut if you can't get sacks it means crap.
You see it different than I do, but to me, I will pass.

Peppers seems way too low here... he's probably the best athlete in the draft
