Food for thought ...... about two days after DHall went from Atlanta to Oakland, I heard an interview on Sirius NFL Radio with TNew.

He was asked about what he thought about the deal and said, best I can remember ..... He could not and did not understand why Oakland would trade for and then PAY Hall when they were only willing to put the Franchise Tag on Asomugha and NOT PAY him ...... TNew said something like that about 4 time in the interview

Shoes more or less on the other foot now ...... Things that make you go Hummmm .......

This is VERY exciting.

The whole dynamic of our defense changes. At the line, the LB'ers and the deep secondary.

Should be fun. Maybe TNew will get a few more INT's not too.

Yep, if he can knock the rust off and stay clean, we're going to have one heck of a corner trio. (Can't forget Henry -- he's still pretty good.)

Hopefully we can also nab a decent CB on the 1st day draft.

We had good depth last year, but cornerback was NOT one of them-thanks to Newman/Henry being banged up, Wade was forced to play alot more zone defense. While I have no problem with zone schemes(Indy/Tampa DO excel playing this), what was worse was that we had guys who were too stupid to understand this scheme. Thankfully, one of those boneheads(Jacques Reeves) is GONE.

FWIW-here's an interesting stat I read on Henry-62% of the time teams have thrown his way have been UN-successful(I saw it on another MB).

Remember last year during TC he got so much flack from us on this MB b/c of his lack of speed. Yeah-it's true if you get a clean release off the LOS against him, he's toast-however, he's VERY physical, so it's easier said than done.

Too bad he gets hurt alot though.

The worst thing you can do is draft with the mindset that Pacman will be our starting corner for the next 5 years. If Dallas has a surplus of quality corners, that is only a plus. A 1st or 2nd round corner is still a NEED.

Here's the good news-he'll be good for AT LEAST ONE year. Year 2 may be a different story, I agree.

However-you saw last year how Newman/Henry were banged up all year, and we were left with some Zone Corner who DIDN'T *shudders* even understand what Zone Coverage really was.

Really-what would be our other options? Sell the farm to Philly for Lito? Some guy who can't stay healthy AND is demanding a new contract?
