TNF from Down Under: Rams vs 49ers

Rams certainly laid a huge egg. They seemed really sluggish.
49ers are going to be good.
What a division

I said the Rams were going to take more losses than some though, given their schedule and how they won some of their games last year.
They have Denver, Philly, and Buffalo all in the next 4 weeks.
Then also 49ers again, Seattle twice, Dallas, LAC.....lol
May end up 3rd in their division.....

Can they at least beat Philly? McVay is 0-4 vs. Sirianni. He’s embarrassing himself.

There is no telling what Simpson's ceiling is
BUT it is also an absolute that he is NOT ready to play in the NFL now
Strangely, im thinking that's why the drafted him...i think in the 1st rd while having a qb that just won the nfl mvp..... so he wouldn't need to play now.

Interestingly no NFL sources indicate that THEY think the travel and so on was why the Rams got their heads handed to them

How did Trance work out?

Kurt went to the Arena League got plenty of experience.
What does Lance have to do with Stenson? Kurt going to Arena league???bahaha, The ONLY reason he played was because te starter went down with injury. My point is the Ram did draft a qb in hopes he can be th eguy to take over once gramps retires in front of him.

Here is his stats during preseason:
During the 2026 NFL preseason for the Los Angeles Rams, Stetson Bennett shared secondary quarterback duties behind starter Matthew Stafford, featuring in game action across the schedule.

Cumulative Preseason Passing & Rushing Totals

  • Completions / Attempts: 23 / 37 (62.2% completion rate)
  • Passing Yards: 219 yards
  • Passing Touchdowns: 0
  • Interceptions: 0
  • Rushing Touchdowns: 2 (1-yard and 8-yard touchdown runs)
Game-by-Game Breakdown

  • Week 1 vs. Kansas City Chiefs (20-12 Win): Started the game with Matthew Stafford sitting out. Completed 4 of 6 pass attempts for 38 yards on a 13-play, 73-yard drive that capped off with a field goal before making way for backup reps.
  • Week 2 vs. New Orleans Saints (34-0 Win): Played the entire first half, completing 19 of 31 pass attempts for 181 yards. While he did not register a passing touchdown, he scored 2 rushing touchdowns on 1-yard and 8-yard scrambles, helping build a 20-0 halftime lead without committing a turnover.

Id say the rams were very pleased with what he did during the preseason.

I am a believer of Bill Parcells' drafting philosophy.

Brick Purdy met every category.

The Cowboys with Romo, and the Niners with Purdy hit the jackpot. How many others are out there that just never get the opportunity?
I do not understand the gamble of drafting an athlete early that started 1 year, that relies on their athletic ability and can't read a defense.

Trance vs Purdy should have been an obvious wake up call for all GM's.

wait.... didnt the niners and their amazing coaches and GM draft him? That wasnt our horrible front office, yes?

PFF Grades

Trent Williams: 68.8
DE Myles Garrett: 69.4

People are paying for this. Lol

The draft is a crapshoot, every year. If it were so easy, the 1st pick would be a HOFer every year, and we all know that isnt true.
Would you trade up in the draft for a DE in the top of the first round, for a someone who only started(played) for 1 season, against lower level competition? That barely played in HS and sat out the year before the draft?

Sure it can be a crapshoot and then there is absolute stupidity.

Now imagine that same scenario for a QB.

That is how Phenom Trance was drafted.
