TNF - Jets @ Broncos

Forgive me but I still don't get it.

Tebow could retire tonight and Romo would still be unfairly criticized.

I never said i wanted him to fail.

He's just overrated to me. I actually feel bad that people are setting him up so high so his fall could be catastrophic.

It was a true statement.

wow..

no, the reason is he is a horrible passing quarterback. But he is winning and proving that you dont have to throw for 300/3Tds to win.

Close games he has a shot and is a GREAT street baller. Games like the Lions - its over quick.

Its very small minded and specious to throw out the religion card. He succeeds and "its gods will" when he fails, its "revsrion to the mean - told ya so"

Most people aren't going to go out on a limb and say that quarterbacking will work long term. but even a 4 game run is unique.

So Deion, the guy who got down on both knees after scoring a TD and is openly religious, hates Tebow for his religion?

What about all the other dozens of players who are religious?

Jesse Holley posts dozens of religious things on his Twitter every week.

Marion Barber does as well.

Hell, find me a football player who doesn't thank God for winning the game.

So Tebow and the Broncos are now ahead of the Jets in the standings.....a Jets team many on this board were saying was one of the best teams in the league after week one...

That's basically the gist of any argument against any QB out there.

I remember when Aaron Rodgers was getting praise before the Superbowl and people said he wasn't that good because he hadn't done anything that Romo hadn't.

Any time some other QB gets credit, deserved or not, people flock and question why Romo is criticized regardless if the criticism of Romo is deserved or not.

They were good based on last years performance.

Their defense has regressed a bit. They've had some injuries on offense. And Sanchez has regressed GREATLY over the last few weeks.

Because the credit he gets is disgusting.

While Romo is labeled a "choker" or a loser.

Give tebow credit . He stepped up , when romo did not.

The media hates Tebow now?

When did that switch flip?

I bet the New York Post back page will be

J e s u s 17 Jets 13..and there will be a ton of articles tomorrow that will throw out the religion card with regard to Tebow to belittle him...

He's polorizing because his faith is forefront in his life...that's all, I dont care!!

I just don't think he's a good quarterback or ever will be but what else is there besides his faith for so many people to hate him, not dislike but HATE him..I hear it all the time..all those pics of people taken doing the Tebow pose on one knee is to mock him and his religion...

I don't know why Tebow is praised, but I SERIOUSLY don't know why he is called a QB? What part of him is a QB?

people in the media dont like Tebow for one reason, his strong faith and in the media, somebody of faith they fell they need to be minimized and tore down because most in the media dont believe in faith and prefer to mock people of faith, ala Bill Maher does on a weekly basis...

i agree ..... same as some on this forum.

Giving Tebow credit for their defense playing better is really selling their defense short.

Their gameplan has changed a lot though. They run the ball a lot, control the clock, and play field position. The 2003 Cowboys basically did the same thing and ended up getting into the playoffs. They eventually got their doors blown off by a good team, but you can be successful doing that.

:laugh2: Didnt Cundiff have like 7 field goals against the giants on MNF? That team was great. Dat Nguyen was a beast.

I think the thought that GOD, whether you believe or not, interferes in football games is pretty pathetic. The fact that so many thank God for scoring or performing should annoy believers and non-believers. The fact any player thanks god for the ability to "make a throw, tackle, catch, kick" automatically says he chose one persons prayers over another.

That said, Tebow seems like a real good kid, intelligent, etc. He is easy to root for. The "tebowing" is just a fad, like the macarena.

Take the piousness out of it. he drove 95yds completing 2 passes and won a game against a defense that played the run.

it was amazing

as long as he is facing poor teams or good teams playing poorly he can be on the winning side. If you keep it close to the end you always have a chance. That is what the whole Tebow farce is about. Denver won this game mainly because the Jets offense was truly offensive.

It is the return of Joe Kapp. :laugh2:

I love it his critics complain and he wins. :laugh2:

It is not pretty and unless he can improve as a passer chances are this ride will be short lived but it seems the more people complain about him and come down on him the more I pull for the guy. :laugh2:

Always love seeing the Jets lose....IMHO Sanchez is so overrated....same can be said about Flaco too.....

Im not a fan of Tebow as a NFL QB.....but he keeps on helping the team win. Give credit to Denver defense...they keep the game close so Tebow can be more effective in this option run offense.

Soon or later....like the Wildcat...this scheme will be shutdown and Tebow will be forced to be a pocket QB. But till then....its fun to watch.

The hard part of stopping it and it has been mentioned many times is the fact defense just don't see it around the league so how the defense goes about stopping it takes time.

What benefits Tebow running it is the fact he is 240 pounds, the guy is build like a FB and as long as he can handle the punishment it is going to be hard for defense to adjust. Most teams would not even think about running this offense because they put their QB at great risk.

In the long run I do think Tebow must learn how to be a better passer and given his competitiveness I think he will learn to become a better passer of the ball. Maybe not to the level of top QB’s but enough to make him even more effective as a QB

I can't imagine wanting a player to fail. What would possess someone to dislike a player to such a degree?

*Shrugs*

Any number of stupid reasons really.

People will say "Cause he's a terrible QB." Well so were a lot of other QBs in the NFL and they got laughed at, not hated and dispised. I'm not sure what things factor into it but there are obviously some issues with Tebow, for some people, that have nothing to do with playing QB.

I'm not saying Deion hates on him cause of religion, in fact I highly doubt that very much, but Deion's celebrations were more about him than God anyway. They were LOOK AT ME celebrations. Just my opinion on that.

And what the hell does Deion know about QBs anyway? He's still trying to find a way to back up his claim that Rex Grossman is the best QB in the NFC East.

That statement right there should tell you all you need to know about Deions ability to evaluate the QB position.

The part that takes the snap on every play and some how, for whatever reason, seems to be able to find ways late in games to help his team win games.
