You just never know if you'll be doing the same job in 2009 for the esteemed Dallas Cowboys franchise. you play with no heart, coach with no directive, and should be ashamed to take Jerry's money in what is obviously highway robbery. You'll either be gone or no longer safe in your current position. Book that.

Yeah. By fraudulent I meant all encompassing. My bad. They should be ashamed to actually think they're earning those paychecks. The NFL is in a sad sad state when players get paid so much that it causes them to lose focus on why they made it to the NFL in the first place.

We all know the vaunted vote of confidence normally means the FO is trying to keep things quiet to avoid waking the sleeping BSPN propaganda machine while they do their work behind the scenes. It's not what Jerry Jones may or may not offer Cowher which makes me certain, but rather what Cowher himself has publicly stated which leads me to believe that he will never accept a head coaching vacancy here. I had started a thread myself to ask anyone for confirmation on what I thought I remembered Cowher had said on yesterday's CBS Pregame Show, but it seemed as if I was the only Zoner who saw/heard what he said. In my highest opinion, if Cowher stands behind his statements, it's very unlikely that he would accept the job from Jerry Jones because Jones is equally unlikely to cut Owens as a stipulation.

Now, before folks immediately jump on the "Cutting Owens would be salary cap suicide for the salary cap!!!" or "Cutting your number one wide receiver would be stupid!!!", etc., bandwagons, I didn't imply either of those opinions. My only discussion point is what Cowher himself said.

Just for the record, I would be all for cutting TO if it meant we get Cowher as HC along with the freedom for him to assemble his own coaching staff and tool around with the groceries a bit. I do know that would take an awful lot of soul searching for Jerry but IMO it would be a brilliant move.

Some are going to immediately argue how Cowher wouldn't be a good fit but I beg to differ and I am at work so don't expect any long back n forth debates from he about it.

We're not going to clean house. It's just not going to happen. As much as they deserve it, most of these players will have roster spots all but guaranteed by the financial and practical realities of the NFL. This is especially true for Flozell, TO, and Romo.

Which leaves coaching as the only practical way to turn this around next year. Otherwise, this is a 2-year project.
