JMO, but so far I would say no. Although this is the first time in years we have a true playmaker again at the wideout position...I fear that TO may also be ANOTHER Marquee player that we bought who is on the downside of his career.

Of course the DEFINING Moment, at least for me, was NOT the "NO Practice-Hammy Stunt" NOT the "Attempted AspirinCIDE" NOT Even some of the SIDEline Antics (which I'm sure we all expected)...but...

I JUST CANNOT GET PASSED THAT DAMN DROPPED SURE FIRE TD PASS AGAINST THE RATZ!!!!

PLAYMAKERS Don't Drop Balls like that...period.

So, my question about TO is twofold...did we get what we paid for this year? And...Will TO be on this club next year?

Also, can someone post the terms of his contract and what the ramifications would be if we parted ways with Mr. OWEns next year? Thanks...

Not yet, but his contract isn't up yet either. We haven't gotten what we paid for in Whitten this year or Roy IMO. Let's wait and see!

you can blame him for dropping a ball and acting stupid resulting in a 15yd penalty, but he is still playing pretty well...he gets open almost at will...teams almost have to double team him because they are so worried about him...alot of teams are playing a bunch of cover 2 against us to take away Owens and Glenn outside, and the result has been alot more room in the running game...while the OL is better than last yr, IMO alot of the improved run game is because of the way teams are accounting for Owens & Glenn

that was a huge drop Sunday, he's paid mega bucks to make that play...but other than that he is doing his job I think

Will he be back next year? I don't think so. I would hope Jerruh has the brains to cut his losses short and tell TO to get the hell out. But then again, this is Jerruh we're talking about.:banghead:

Yes we did. TO has always had a problem with dropping passes. He did in San Fran and Philly. Anyone who has ever seen him play knows he will dop a few. Jerry and Bill should have known that this trend was going to continue.

If he played all of last year and then came here and dropped those tds, i would have been more mad but seeing as how he played what? little under a half a year i will expect him to have a few mental lapses

I agree. Not yet but with 8 games remaing I'm hopeful things will change. For goodness sake he was not signed for his personality. :laugh2:

Gee, I guess they should just hand us the Lombardi Trophy-- I mean we "paid" for it  The team with the biggest payroll each year does not win the Superbowl.

We paid for a good player and we got one. We've only really started using him since Romo arrived-- that's two and a half games in half a season.

He's still got big-time reception and TD stats and I think we're just getting started.

My exact sentiments. We've played half the season and he leads the team in scoring. Should he have more catches? Yes. Has he caused us to lose any games ALL BY HIMSELF like everybody is saying? No. Has he earned his $10 million so far this season? No. But he will. Watch. Will he be back next season? You betcha. Ultimately, he will prove all the naysayers wrong. Not only will he not tear this team apart (no one player can - SF and Philly both suck without him), he will be an integral part of a team that starts to gel, stops making dumb mistakes and gets on a roll. Those are my predictions.

Very well said. I am disappointed that he dropped and hold him accountable... but drops are part of game... he needs to get in game mode 100%... never mind planning out endzone celebrations.... lack of focus on top of "there will be drops" is not good.

If Romo is the man...why take away his weapon? Thats like taking Jerry Rice away from Montana;) :D

Didn't think I implied that we paid for a Lombardi....While I agree that TO has looked much better with Romo under Center...I don't agree that we paid for a GOOD Player...we paid for a GREAT Player, A STAR!!!

JMO, but GOOD, and GOOD Enough just don't cut it with TO...

Like many of the other posters, I am hopeful that TO will perform like a PLAYMAKER in the 2nd half of the season with Romo tossing him the rock!

The way things are playing out though....I just can't see BOTH BP and TO back together again next year...JMO

Because we are not in love with TO? He is here and I'm not looking to see him cut but I do expect a heck of a lot more from him than what I'm seeing thus far. Dallas has 8 games left and my hope is the TO will live up to the expectation of this franchise.

And I'm glad none of the head in the sand bleeding heart apologists aren't running them.

What is exactly wrong with saying we're getting what we deserve?

Wouldn't the world be a better place if we all got what we deserved?

Bringing in TO means that we deserve to have bad things happen? Is that wha you are saying?
I just want to be sure I understand.
