Is it just me or does he look unstoppable flat out going deep off of going in motion? Once a WR gets a jump on a DB its OVER.

Also note that receivers are doing well on crossing routes, a staple of 2005/06 offense.

to on a crossing route in my opinion is unstoppable.

it's easily his best route because of his combination of being full throttle and his strength.

It's also the type of route he's been more accustomed to running his whole career (WCO).

TO in the slot, in motion, these 2 are dangerous if Witten is also in the slot. The key is using our backs in the passing game which helps to keep teams from blitzing, or at least it moves those line backers out of the middle where TO can go to work.

So which do you guys think is a higher % play for TO? Slant or Cross?
I think the crossing route but you have to have time to throw that pass - however, if he slants after 8 yards, he could be extremely deadly.

Of even better, if he runs the infamous...

30 YARD SLANT!

:D

Get him the ball while his wheels are in motion and he is hard to stop.

Ok I will take one of everything you guys said.... ah... make it a double LOL

Gotta get his hands on the ball early(in 1st half) even if it means an end around.

We are a better team when his head is in the game. Thats important.

crossing routes only work because of the oline, they played brilliantly

They dont work when the QB gets flushed out and buys time? never?

Problem is teams are doubling the heck out of TO early. Once Witten hurt them early it was more open 2nd half for TO.

We put up 45 and we are close to a pick your poison offense.

Yeah, that sounds like a real problem. ;)

You know this double teaming TO is kinda like blitzing a great offense. You are crazy to blitz a great offense too much, cause they will casually fire the ball to the opened receiver and pick up huge yards.

Same principle goes for doubling a great receiver with a great second receiver/TE on board. Witten killed the middle of the field cause you can't double a guy over there and then expect to make it back towards mid-field to help with Witten also.

So teams, go ahead and keep double-teaming TO - Witten will have a monster year!

Don't forget how huge the Hurd TD will be for this team. When an OC establishes that he is not scared to use a WR that wouldn't even be on the field normally in a crucial 3rd down situation and the WR makes the play, that really will have DC concerned, because you can't double everyone. A lot of teams will not want to blitz this year because they will need as many people droping back in coverage as possible. That will open up the running game a lot more and make the OL even better. This offense is nearly impossible to stop.

The only way to stop our offense is for them to stop Romo. As long as our OL & RB/TE can handle our opponents basic rush & their blitz packages, and Romo can also adjust, we will be deadly and make them pay big time. Of course our OL must consistently also open lanes for our RBs. It's the same thing our offense was able to do during the 90s. That combined with a really good defense won us 3 SB.

The Dolphins have a much better defense then did the Giants and can bring the pressure -- particularly Taylor. Flozel and rest of OL need to get the job done. You know they'll double team TO and somehow try double teaming Witten which means they only have 7 men in the box. Our running game must work and Romo must be accurate. The Skins probably have a slightly better running game but we've got a much better passing game and an OC who knows their defense and their defensive players.

1.It makes it difficult for a defense to double a WR that's in motion particularly if the WR is working the middle of the field.

2. When TO is in motion it's nearly impossible for the opposing DB to get a good jam on him which leads to a free release off the LOS. Someone with his power and speed running free off the LOS is a tough cover for opposing defenses.
